Professor
- Medical qualification included in Schedule I or II, or Part II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Postgraduate qualification (MD/MS or equivalent).
- Experience: 14 years teaching/research in a recognized institution post-MD/MS.
- Super-specialty disciplines: DM/M.Ch in respective discipline with 12 years teaching/research experience after DM/M.Ch.
Additional Professor
- Same medical qualifications as Professor.
- Experience: 10 years teaching/research; 8 years for super-specialty after DM/M.Ch.
Associate Professor
- Same medical qualifications as Professor.
- Experience: 6 years post-MD/MS; 3–4 years for super-specialty disciplines after DM/M.Ch.
Assistant Professor
- Same medical qualifications as Professor.
- Experience: 3 years post-MD/MS; 0–1 year for super-specialty disciplines after DM/M.Ch.
For Non-Medical Candidates (Departments: Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology)
- Master’s degree in the concerned discipline (regular UGC recognized course)
- Ph.D. in the relevant discipline from an Indian or recognized foreign University

Selection Process
