This notification is one of the most awaited in the academic sector, offering a golden opportunity for eligible and passionate academicians to secure permanent teaching positions under the College Education Department. With 574 vacancies across 30 diverse subjects, the recruitment process is expected to be highly competitive, involving a written examination and an interview. Application Fees
The application process requires candidates to pay a fee through the online mode. The fee structure is based on category:
- General / OBC (Creamy Layer) / MBC (Creamy Layer): ₹600/-
- Reserved Categories (SC / ST / OBC Non-Creamy Layer / MBC Non-Creamy Layer / EWS): ₹400/-
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): ₹400/-
Candidates from states outside Rajasthan must pay the fee applicable to the General category.
Additionally, RPSC follows a One-Time Registration (OTR) system. Candidates need to register on the RPSC portal with Aadhaar details. This OTR fee is valid for multiple future recruitments, so once paid, candidates won’t have to repeat the process.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility requirements are carefully designed to ensure only qualified and committed academicians are recruited.
1. Educational Qualifications
For Subjects 1 to 27 (Mainstream subjects like Hindi, English, Science, Social Sciences, etc.):
- A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the relevant subject from a recognized Indian or foreign university.
- The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or CSIR.
Ph.D. Exemption from NET:
- Candidates who hold a Ph.D. degree as per UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016 are exempted from the NET requirement, provided their Ph.D. involved rigorous evaluation, viva-voce, and research publications.
For Subjects 28 to 30 (Performing Arts – Music and Dance):
Candidates can qualify through two pathways:
- Option A: Same academic requirements as above (Master’s degree with 55% + NET/Ph.D.).
- Option B: A traditional or professional artist with:
- A Bachelor’s degree and recognized professional achievement.
- Training under a noted traditional master/artist.
- Status as an ‘A’ grade artist of All India Radio/Doordarshan.
- Demonstrated ability to explain the subject with reasoning and teach theory with examples.
Additional Requirements for All Candidates:
- Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script.
- Familiarity with Rajasthani culture.
Relaxation in Marks:
A 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks (from 55% to 50%) is available for candidates from SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), MBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and PwBD categories.
2. Age Limit (as on July 1, 2025)
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 40 years
Age Relaxations (as per government rules):
- SC / ST / OBC / MBC / EWS (Male, Rajasthan): 5 years
- General Women: 5 years
- SC / ST / OBC / MBC / EWS (Women, Rajasthan): 10 years
- Widow/Divorcee: No upper age limit
- Ex-Servicemen: 10 years
- PwBD: 5 years
- State Government Employees: Special relaxations may apply.
Note: Age relaxations are not cumulative. Only one category-based relaxation will be applicable.
3. Nationality
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- Reservation benefits (SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS) are only available to candidates with domicile status in Rajasthan. Candidates from other states must apply under the General (Unreserved) category.
Salary Scale
- The selected Assistant Professors will be appointed in the Pay Band of ₹15,600 – ₹39,100 with an Academic Grade Pay (AGP) of ₹6000.
- However, during the probation period, they will receive a fixed salary as per Rajasthan government rules. The fixed pay structure may be revised according to state policy.
Selection Process
The recruitment will follow a two-stage process:
1. Written Examination
- Mode: Likely offline OMR-based or online CBT (to be confirmed).
- Type: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions).
- Syllabus: RPSC will release a detailed syllabus for each subject.
- Evaluation: Scaling/moderation/normalization methods may be used for fairness.
2. Interview
- Shortlisted candidates from the written exam will be called for an interview.
- The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined performance in the written exam and the interview.
- Selected candidates will be recommended to the State Government for appointment.
How to Apply
Applications will only be accepted online through the official RPSC recruitment portal.
Step 1: One-Time Registration (OTR)
- New users must complete their OTR on the SSO portal using Aadhaar details.
- Provide details such as Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, and Gender carefully, as these cannot be changed later.
- Pay the OTR fee.
- Existing users can simply log in with their SSO ID.
Step 2: Filling the Application Form
- Log in to the RPSC portal using SSO credentials.
- Select the advertisement for Assistant Professor (College Education) and click on Apply Online.
- Enter educational qualifications, category, subject choice, and other required details.
Step 3: Upload Documents
- Recent passport-sized photograph.
- Scanned signature.
- Scanned left thumb impression.
Step 4: Submission and Printout
- Review details carefully before submission.
- Submit the application and note down the Application Number.
- Take a printout of the application for future reference.
Step 5: Correction Window
- Corrections (except for immutable details like Name, Father’s Name, DoB, Gender) can be made during the application period and for 10 days after the deadline by paying a correction fee of ₹500/-.
Important Instructions
- PwBD Candidates: Eligible candidates requiring a scribe must indicate the option in the application and provide necessary documents. Compensatory time will be allowed.
- Women Candidates: Horizontal reservation exists for women, including widow and divorcee categories. Inter-changeability between these quotas may apply.
- Documents for Exam: Candidates must bring a printed admit card, one recent photograph, and a valid photo ID (such as Aadhaar, Voter ID, or Driver’s License) to the exam center.
- Debarment: Candidates providing false information or hiding facts will be disqualified and debarred from future RPSC exams.
