Indian Port Rail & Ropeway Corporation Limited (IPRCL), a prestigious joint venture company under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Government of India, has released an official notification inviting applications for the engagement of Graduate and Diploma Engineering Apprentices for the year 2025.
This recruitment drive is being conducted under the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961 (as amended) and offers an excellent opportunity for fresh engineering graduates and diploma holders to gain practical exposure and hands-on training in a reputed government organization associated with India’s port and railway infrastructure.
About IPRCL
IPRCL is the first-of-its-kind joint venture company, incorporated on 10th July 2015 under the Companies Act, 2013. It was established with the primary objective of developing and providing efficient rail evacuation systems for major ports across India and enhancing their cargo handling capacity.
The shareholding structure of IPRCL includes:
- 11 Major Ports under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways holding 90% equity capital
- Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) under the Ministry of Railways holding the remaining 10% equity capital
Over the years, IPRCL has grown as a reliable organization, playing a vital role in India’s Sagarmala Project, which focuses on port-led development.

Salary / Pay Scale Details
The pay structure of IPRCL follows IDA pay scale (as per PSU norms). Approximate monthly salary ranges are:

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must carefully go through the eligibility conditions before applying.
1. Age Limit
- Maximum Age: 23 years as of the last date of application (10.10.2025).
- Relaxation in age:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
2. Educational Qualification
- Graduate Apprentices (Electrical/Mechanical):
- Degree in Engineering in the relevant discipline with minimum 60% aggregate marks (55% for SC/ST).
- Diploma Apprentices (Electrical/Mechanical):
- Diploma in Engineering in the relevant trade with minimum 60% aggregate marks (55% for SC/ST).
📌 Additional Conditions:
- Only candidates who have passed Degree/Diploma on or after 01.01.2024 are eligible.
- Candidates whose results are still awaited cannot apply.
- Candidates with one year or more of job experience are not eligible.
- Applicants who have already undergone apprenticeship training earlier or are pursuing one currently under the Apprentices Act are not eligible.
- Candidates must be registered on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) Portal and must have a valid registration/ID number.
Duration of Training
- The apprenticeship training will be for a period of 1 year only.
- There will be no claim for permanent employment in IPRCL after the completion of training.
Selection Procedure
The selection will be purely merit-based, and no interview will be conducted.
- Shortlisting will be done based on the percentage of marks obtained in Degree/Diploma.
- A merit list will be prepared discipline-wise.
- The final selection will be communicated through email/post/courier.
Training Conditions
- Apprentices will not be provided boarding or lodging facilities by IPRCL.
- No travel expenses will be reimbursed during the training period.
- The training will follow the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961.
Documents Required with Application
Applicants must attach self-attested photocopies of the following documents along with their application form:
- Matriculation/10th Certificate (for proof of DOB).
- Degree/Diploma certificate and mark sheets of all semesters/years.
- CGPA-to-percentage conversion certificate (if applicable).
- NATS registration proof.
- Caste certificate (if applicable).
- Photo ID proof (Aadhaar/Passport/PAN/Driving License/Voter ID).
- Address proof (any government-issued document).
- One recent passport-size photograph (self-attested).
Applications without the above documents will be rejected.

- Incomplete applications or those not supported by required documents will be summarily rejected.
- If at any stage, the documents or information are found to be false or incorrect, the candidature will be cancelled.
- The management reserves the right to increase/decrease vacancies or cancel the recruitment process without assigning any reason.
- Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
- Any disputes arising out of this notification will fall under the jurisdiction of Mumbai courts.
