Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility varies according to the post. Below are the main requirements:

1. Assistant Manager (Power Station – Probationer)

  • Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation: Full-time 4 years BE/B.Tech, Integrated M.Tech, Dual Degree, or equivalent in relevant disciplines from UGC/AICTE recognized universities or IITs/NITs.

2. Assistant Manager (Civil – Probationer)

  • Full-time BE/B.Tech or equivalent in Civil or Construction Engineering.

3. Assistant Manager (HR&A – Probationer)

  • Graduate in any discipline with MBA/MHRM/Postgraduate Degree/Diploma (2 years full-time) in HR/IR/Personnel Management from recognized institutions.

4. Assistant Manager (IT – Probationer)

  • Full-time BE/B.Tech or equivalent in Computer Science/IT.

5. Safety Officer

  • Graduate in Engineering with 2 years’ supervisory/managerial experience in factory Safety/Production/Maintenance
    OR
  • Honours Graduate in Physics or Chemistry with 5 years’ relevant experience
    OR
  • Diploma in Engineering with 5 years’ relevant experience
    Plus Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Industrial Safety and knowledge of Bengali.

6. Operation & Maintenance Supervisor – Probationer

  • Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from recognized institutes.

7. Sub-Assistant Engineer (Civil – Probationer)

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering from recognized institutes.

8. Chemist – Probationer

  • B.Sc. (Honours) in Chemistry.

9. Draughtsman

  • Madhyamik or equivalent with 2 years ITI trade certificate in Draughtsman (Civil/Mechanical) along with CAD/CAM knowledge.

10. Office Executive

  • Graduate with at least 50% marks or Honours graduate in any discipline along with a computer application certificate.

11. Operator/Technician – Probationer

  • Madhyamik or equivalent with ITI/NAC in Fitter or Electrician trades.

12. Assistant Teacher (High School)

  • Honours Graduate/Postgraduate with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject plus B.Ed. for all subjects except Physical Education.
  • For Physical Education: Honours Graduate with B.P.Ed. or Integrated 5-year B.P.Ed.

13. Librarian

  • Graduation with a Degree in Library Science.

Age Limit (as on 01.09.2025)

  • General/UR Candidates: Maximum 32 years
  • SC/ST: Relaxation up to 5 years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Relaxation up to 3 years
  • PWBD Candidates: Relaxation up to 10 years
  • Exempted Category (EC): Up to 45 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Service period deducted from age (maximum 45 years)

Salary and Pay Scale

The pay scale varies depending on the post:

  • Assistant Manager / Safety Officer: ₹56,100 – ₹1,60,500 (Level 8)
  • Operation & Maintenance Supervisor / Sub-Assistant Engineer / Chemist: ₹36,800 – ₹1,06,700 (Level 6)
  • Office Executive: ₹29,000 – ₹84,500 (Level 4)
  • Draughtsman / Operator / Technician: ₹23,400 – ₹68,900 (Level 3)
  • Assistant Teacher (Graduate Level): ₹39,900 – ₹1,02,800 (Level 8)
  • Assistant Teacher (Postgraduate Level): ₹42,600 – ₹1,09,800 (Level 9)
  • Librarian: ₹32,100 – ₹82,900 (Level 5)

In addition to basic pay, employees will receive DA, HRA, Medical Allowance, LTC, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Leave Encashment, and Medical Benefits for self and dependents.

  • UR / EWS / OBC Candidates: ₹1000 (non-refundable)

Selection Process

The selection procedure depends on the post applied for:

For Assistant Managers & Safety Officer

  • Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by Personal Interview.
  • Final merit list prepared based on:
    • CBT: 70% weightage
    • Interview: 30% weightage

For Other Posts

  • Selection through Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by skill test/interview (where applicable).
  • Language Test in Bengali/Nepali is compulsory for all candidates.

Important Note

  • In case of a tie in final scores, preference will be given in the order:
    1. Higher CBT marks
    2. Higher Interview marks
    3. Older candidate (by date of birth)

Reservation

  • Reservation will be applicable as per Government of West Bengal rules for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PWBD, Exempted Category, Ex-Servicemen, and Meritorious Sportspersons.
  • Candidates from other states applying under reserved categories will be treated as Unreserved (General).
  • Reservation for sports quota will only be applicable for recognized sports such as Cricket, Football, Kabaddi, Wrestling, Boxing, Swimming, Athletics, and others listed under WB government norms.
