The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), a statutory body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, has announced recruitment for teaching faculty and senior resident positions on a contractual basis at ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Ranchi, Jharkhand. This recruitment aims to fill positions across various medical disciplines including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, Pathology, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Anaesthesia, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Radiodiagnosis, Dentistry, and Statistics. The positions are offered on contract for a maximum duration of three years, with annual renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance. This initiative provides an opportunity for qualified medical professionals to contribute to the medical education and healthcare delivery system in a premier government institution.

Walk-In Interview Date

The ESIC Medical College, Ranchi has scheduled walk-in interviews for the recruitment of teaching faculty. Candidates must report for document verification and interviews between 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The walk-in interviews will be conducted on:

  • Date: 7th October 2025
  • Frequency: Every Tuesday until positions are filled

Candidates are advised to appear on the scheduled dates with all required documents for verification.

Vacancies and Reservation

The recruitment is open for the following teaching positions: Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Senior Resident across multiple medical departments. The total number of vacancies, along with category-wise reservation, are provisionally outlined below and may change based on institutional requirements:

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • Teaching Faculty (Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor): Up to 69 years of age as on the date of the interview.
  • Senior Residents: Up to 45 years of age.

Age Relaxation:

  • Government of India norms will apply for reserved categories including SC/ST/OBC/EWS, persons with benchmark disabilities, and others.
  • Candidates from the EWS category must provide a valid EWS certificate not older than one year from the interview date.
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates must provide a valid certificate issued by an officer not below Sub-Divisional Officer rank or equivalent.

Educational Qualifications

All candidates must meet the National Medical Commission (NMC) or Medical Council of India (MCI) standards for eligibility:

  • Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor: Postgraduate Medical Qualification (MD/MS/DNB) or equivalent in the concerned subject.
  • Senior Resident: Postgraduate degree or diploma as applicable, with experience in the relevant specialty.
  • Candidates must have an up-to-date NMC or State Medical Council registration. If registration is pending, proof of application must be submitted.

Pay and Allowances

Consolidated Salary as per 7th CPC

  • Professor: Level 13, Rs. 2,56,140/- per month (consolidated)
  • Associate Professor: Level 12, Rs. 1,65,945/- per month (consolidated)
  • Assistant Professor: Level 11, Rs. 1,43,345/- per month (consolidated)
  • Senior Resident: Level 11, Rs. 1,43,345/- per month (fixed basic pay)

Note: Retired employees or pensioners may be allowed to draw pay without deductions in addition to pension and dearness relief during the contractual period.

Terms of Contract

  1. The initial tenure is for one year or until reaching 70 years of age, whichever is earlier.
  2. Contracts may be terminated from either side with one month’s prior notice. In case of immediate resignation, one month’s salary is refundable to ESIC.
  3. No service benefits such as PF, gratuity, pension, medical allowances, promotion, or seniority are provided.
  4. Absence beyond seven days without permission may lead to automatic termination.
  5. Attendance is mandatory on both manual registers and Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS).
  6. Other terms and conditions as issued by ESIC will apply.

Application Fee

  • SC/ST/ESIC Employees/Female Candidates/Defence Ex-Servicemen/Persons with Disabilities: Nil
  • All Other Categories: Rs. 500/- (Non-refundable)
  • Fee must be submitted via Demand Draft in favor of “ESIC Saving Fund A/c No.-2” payable at Namkum.

Required Documents

Candidates must submit self-attested copies of the following documents during the interview:

  1. Admit Card or Certificate of passing Class X for date of birth verification
  2. All marksheets and degree certificates for MBBS, MD/MS/DNB
  3. Valid EWS/OBC/SC/ST/PwD certificate as applicable
  4. State/NMC Medical Registration Certificate (updated)
  5. Proof of publications, if any
  6. Experience certificates
  7. Passport-size photograph
  8. Relieving/NOC certificate from current/previous employer, if applicable
  9. Aadhaar Card
  10. Completion certificates of ICMR/NMC Biomedical Research or Medical Education Workshop, if applicable

All documents must be verified with originals before or during the interview.

Selection Procedure

  1. Selection will be based on academic credentials and performance in the interview conducted by a selection board.
  2. Results will be published on ESIC recruitment section.
  3. Appointment offers will be sent via email.
  4. Selected candidates must join as per the instructions in the appointment offer.
  5. Each candidate must submit a non-interest bearing security deposit of Rs. 1,00,000/- upon joining, refundable after successful completion of the contract.
