Special Note for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD):

  • Out of the 295 Male Open vacancies, 7 are reserved for PwBD candidates.

  • Only candidates with a locomotor disability of 40% and above (either one leg or both legs affected) are eligible. These posts are civilian in nature, and the selected candidates will not wear the police uniform.

Eligibility Criteria

A. Nationality / Citizenship

You must be a citizen of India.

B. Age Limit (as on July 1, 2025)

The age limit for this post is 18 to 25 years. This means you must have been born not before July 2, 2000, and not later than July 1, 2007.

Age Relaxation is available for the following categories:

  • Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST): 5 years
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 3 years after deducting their military service from their actual age.
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD):
    • Unreserved/EWS: 10 years
    • OBC: 13 years
    • SC/ST: 15 years
  • Departmental Candidates of Delhi Police (with 3 years of service):
    • UR/EWS: Up to 40 years
    • OBC: Up to 43 years
    • SC/ST: Up to 45 years
  • Widows/Divorced Women:
    • UR/EWS: Up to 35 years
    • OBC: Up to 38 years

  • Sportspersons who have represented a State or Country: 5 years (10 years for SC/ST).

Crucial Point for Age: The date of birth recorded in your Matriculation (10th) or Secondary Examination Certificate will be considered final. No changes will be allowed after the final submission of the application.

C. Educational Qualification (as on October 20, 2025)

  • You must have passed the 10+2 (Senior Secondary) examination or equivalent from a recognized Board.
  • Professional Qualification: You must possess a typing speed of:
    • 30 words per minute in English, OR
    • 25 words per minute in Hindi.

Candidates who are in the final year of their 10+2 and are awaiting results are not eligible. You must have passed the examination by the closing date of the application.

Salary and Pay Scale

The post of Head Constable (Ministerial) in Delhi Police offers a very attractive salary structure as per the 7th Central Pay Commission.

  • Pay Scale: Level-4 in the Pay Matrix: Rs. 25,500 – Rs. 81,100/-
  • In-hand Salary: The starting in-hand salary will be approximately Rs. 35,000 – 40,000 per month, depending on various allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance. This is a Group ‘C’ post.

Application Fee

  • The application fee is Rs. 100/-.
  • Fee Exemption: Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) categories are exempted from paying the fee.
  • Payment Mode: The fee can be paid online only using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Credit/Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, RuPay).

The Selection Process

The selection process is designed to be thorough, testing a candidate’s knowledge, physical fitness, and technical skills. It consists of four main stages:

1. Computer-Based Examination (CBE): This is the first and primary screening test. It will be an objective-type exam conducted online in English and Hindi.     • Female: 800 meters in 5 minutes

3. Skill/Trade Test (Typing Test): This is a qualifying test. You will be tested on your typing speed on a computer.

  • English Typing: 30 words per minute.
  • Hindi Typing: 25 words per minute.

4. Document Verification and Detailed Medical Examination (DME): The final stage involves a thorough check of all your original documents—educational certificates, caste/category certificates, age proof, etc. A Detailed Medical Examination will also be conducted to ensure you are fit for the role.

Bonuses and Incentives

A. For NCC Certificate Holders:

  • NCC ‘C’ Certificate: 5% of the maximum marks of the examination.
  • NCC ‘B’ Certificate: 3% of the maximum marks.
  • NCC ‘A’ Certificate: 2% of the maximum marks.
    (This benefit is not available for Ex-servicemen)

B. For Graduates from Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU):

  • Additional marks ranging from 2% to 5% of the maximum marks, depending on the class obtained in the degree or post-graduate diploma.

Note: You must produce the original certificates for these incentives during the Document Verification stage.

How to Apply

The application process is entirely online. Follow these steps carefully to avoid rejection.

  1. One-Time Registration (OTR): If you are a new user, you must first complete the One-Time Registration on the official SSC website. You will need a valid mobile number and email ID. This OTR will be valid for all future SSC exams.
  2. Fill the Online Application Form: After OTR, log in and select the “Head Constable (Ministerial) in Delhi Police Examination, 2025” to access the application form.
  3. Photograph and Signature: The system is designed to capture a live photograph using your webcam. Do not upload an existing photo. Sit in a well-lit room with a plain background, without glasses or a cap. You will also need to upload a clear, scanned signature in JPEG format.
