The Central University of Jammu (CUJ) invites online applications from highly qualified, motivated, and dynamic Indian Citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) for teaching positions in various departments of the University. This recruitment drive is being conducted under Rolling Advertisement #3 to fill positions that remain vacant from the previous recruitment cycle dated along with newly created teaching positions.

  • Category (d) – Autism, Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disability, and Mental Illness
  • Category (e) – Multiple disabilities from among categories (a) to (d), including deafblindness

Vacancies reserved for categories ‘d’ & ‘e’ will be filled by candidates of benchmark disabilities (a, b, c) if suitable candidates are unavailable. If no suitable candidate with benchmark disability is found, the vacancy will be treated as unreserved.

Basic Pay Structure

The pay for each post is in accordance with the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC):

Additional Benefits: University-appointed candidates are entitled to allowances and benefits as per the statutory regulations and government rules. Appointments will initially be on probation as per CUJ norms, with confirmation based on satisfactory performance.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality:
Candidates must be Indian citizens or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) as defined under Indian law.

2. Educational Qualifications:

  • Professor / Associate Professor:
    Candidates should possess a Ph.D. degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.
    A consistent record of teaching, research, and scholarly contributions is required. Candidates for Computer Science, Engineering, and Technology departments should have a minimum of four years of relevant postgraduate teaching experience or equivalent research experience.
  • Assistant Professor:
    Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD) and NET/SET qualification. Relevant teaching or research experience is desirable.

3. Age Limit:

  • Maximum Age: 35 years (relaxation for reserved categories as per Government of India norms).

Instructions for Applicants:

  1. Candidates are required to submit their complete details online along with relevant documents, certificates, and proof of qualifications before the prescribed cut-off date.
  2. Applicants who applied earlier must reapply but are exempt from paying the application fee.
  3. Candidates can update their application only before the cut-off date. Updates after the cut-off date will not be accepted unless the vacancy remains unfilled for the next round.
  4. Candidates are advised to read the detailed instructions on the CUJ career portal before submission.

Application Fee:

  • UR / OBC / EWS: Rs. 1000/-
  • SC / ST / PwBD / Women applicants: No fee
  • Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Rolling Advertisement Process

This is a Rolling Advertisement, meaning:

  1. Applications are continuously accepted.
  2. Applications received by the cut-off date will be processed for the first phase of selection.
  3. Applications received after the cut-off will be considered in the next phase.
  4. Unfilled vacancies will automatically roll over to the next round.
  5. The advertisement is continuously updated on the CUJ website whenever a new vacancy arises or a position is filled.
  6. Candidates can apply anytime during the year, but processing happens only after the cut-off dates.

Reservation and Category-wise Details

CUJ follows the Government of India norms for reservation:

  • Scheduled Caste (SC)
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST)
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC) – Non-Creamy Layer
  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS)
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)

Special Provisions for PwBD:

  • Applicants must submit a certificate of disability from a recognized medical board.
  • Reservations for PwBD categories are provided as per applicable rules, and vacancies may be adjusted to other benchmark disabilities if suitable candidates are not available.

Selection Procedure

The selection process will follow the CUJ and UGC guidelines for faculty recruitment:

  1. Screening of Applications – Shortlisting will be done based on eligibility, academic credentials, research experience, and teaching record.
  2. Selection Committee – A competent Selection Committee will conduct interviews, presentations, and assessments.
  3. Final Appointment – Candidates recommended by the committee will be appointed as per CUJ norms, subject to verification of original documents, qualifications, and experience.

Note: The eligibility of candidates will be determined as on the cut-off date of the particular phase.
