The Central University of Karnataka (CUK) has announced an official recruitment notification dated 01 October 2025, inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) for various Faculty Positions. Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility, qualifications, and experience for each post are as per the UGC Regulations, 2018 and its subsequent amendments.

1. Assistant Professor (All Subjects Except Fine Arts/Music/Engineering)

Eligibility (A or B):

A.

  • Master’s Degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the relevant/allied subject.
  • Candidate must have cleared NET (UGC/CSIR) or an equivalent test accredited by UGC.
  • Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. as per UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations 2009 or 2016 are exempted from NET.

B.
Ph.D. holders registered before July 11, 2009, may also be exempt from NET, provided they meet specific conditions such as publication and viva requirements.

2. Associate Professor

  • Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.
  • Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 8 years of teaching/research experience equivalent to that of Assistant Professor.
  • At least 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
  • Minimum research score of 75 as per UGC Appendix II, Table 2.

3. Professor

Eligibility (A or B):

A.

  • Eminent scholar with a Ph.D. degree and at least 10 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Minimum research score of 120 as per UGC criteria.
  • At least 10 years of teaching/research experience, including guidance of at least one Ph.D. candidate.

OR

B.
An outstanding professional with a Ph.D. degree and significant contribution to research/industry, supported by documentary evidence and at least 10 years’ experience.

4. Assistant Professor – Hindustani Vocal Music

  • Master’s Degree with 55% marks (or equivalent) in the relevant subject.
  • Must have cleared NET or equivalent test.
  • Candidates with a Ph.D. in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016 are exempt from NET.
  • Candidates registered for Ph.D. before July 11, 2009, must fulfill publication and viva conditions.

5. Engineering / Technology (Computer Science, AI & Machine Learning)

Assistant Professor

  • B.E./B.Tech./B.S. and M.E./M.Tech./M.S. in relevant branch with First Class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.
  • Ph.D. in the relevant field is desirable.

Associate Professor

  • Ph.D. in relevant field and First Class in Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
  • At least 6 research publications in SCI/UGC/AICTE-approved journals.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience, including 2 years post-Ph.D.
  • Minimum research score of 75 as per UGC Table 2.

  5. Submit the application form and download a PDF copy.

The hard copy must reach by 10 November 2025 (5:30 PM).
