Note:

  • 5% of total seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
  • In case no suitable candidate is available under the EWS category, unreserved (UR) candidates may be considered.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must possess a Postgraduate Medical Degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the concerned specialty from a recognized University or Institute.
  • For the Trauma & Emergency department, candidates with degrees in Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, General Surgery, or Orthopaedics are also eligible.
  • Registration with NMC/MCI/State Medical Council is mandatory before joining if selected.

Only those candidates who have completed their postgraduate degree and are eligible by the interview date should apply.

Age Limit

  • The maximum age limit is 45 years as on the date of interview.

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years (General), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST)
  • No relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for unreserved posts.

Salary and Pay Scale

Selected candidates for the post of Senior Resident will receive the following remuneration:

  • Basic Pay: ₹67,700 per month (Level 11, Cell 1 as per 7th CPC)
  • Allowances: Usual allowances as per Central Government norms, including Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) where applicable.
  • The salary structure is subject to periodic revision as per government rules.

Tenure of Appointment

  • The appointment is initially for a period of 1 year, which can be extended up to 3 years depending on performance, conduct, and requirements of the institute.
  • The post is purely tenure-based and does not confer any right for permanent employment or seniority benefits in the future.

Documents Required at the Time of Interview

Applicants must bring the following documents (both original and self-attested photocopies):

  1. Duly filled Application Form and Bio-Data (as per Annexures I & II).
  2. Proof of payment (NEFT transaction receipt).
  3. MBBS degree certificate and mark sheets.
  4. Postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) certificate.
  5. Valid NMC/MCI/State Medical Council Registration Certificate.
  6. Birth certificate or Class 10th certificate as proof of age.
  7. Caste or Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) in the prescribed format.
  8. No Objection Certificate (NOC) if employed in Central/State/Autonomous Government institutions.
  9. PwBD certificate (if applicable).
  10. Any other relevant certificates or experience proofs.

Incomplete or unsigned applications will not be accepted.

Reservation Guidelines

OBC Candidates

  • The OBC-NCL certificate must be issued between 1st April 2025 and 31st March 2026.
  • The certificate must be in the format prescribed by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).
  • The caste name must appear in the Central List of OBCs.
  • The certificate must clearly state that the candidate does not belong to the Creamy Layer.

EWS Candidates

  • Candidates applying under the EWS category must produce an Income and Asset Certificate as per DoPT guidelines.
  • The certificate must be valid and issued by the competent authority.

PwBD Candidates

  • Disability should conform to government norms for medical posts.
  • Disability between 50% to 70% of lower limbs will be primarily considered. If such candidates are unavailable, those with 40% to 50% disability may be considered.
  • Certificate must be signed by a duly constituted Medical Board from a recognized government hospital.

Selection Process

  • Selection will be made based on the interview conducted at AIIMS Gorakhpur.
  • If a large number of candidates appear, the institute may conduct a written screening test to shortlist applicants for the interview.
  • Final selection will be based on academic performance, interview marks, and overall merit.
  • The decision of the Executive Director, AIIMS Gorakhpur, will be final and binding.

The names of shortlisted candidates will be published on the AIIMS Gorakhpur website. No separate call letter or personal communication will be sent to candidates.

General Terms and Conditions

  1. Candidates already in government service must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at the time of interview.
  2. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
  3. The appointment will be under the Residency Scheme of the Government of India.
  4. The appointment may be terminated at any time by either side with one month’s notice or one month’s salary in lieu of notice.
  5. Senior Residents must not engage in private practice of any kind during their tenure.
  6. The appointee will be governed by AIIMS rules of conduct and discipline.
  7. Those who have already completed three years of Senior Residency in any Government institution will not be eligible.
  8. Candidates resigning or applying elsewhere within the first three months of joining will not be issued any NOC or experience certificate.
  9. The post does not carry any pension, gratuity, or government service benefits.
  10. The appointment is subject to medical fitness certified by a competent Medical Board.
  11. Any false information or suppression of facts may result in termination of employment.
  12. The Executive Director, AIIMS Gorakhpur, reserves the right to cancel, modify, or withdraw the advertisement at any stage.
  13. All disputes regarding this recruitment will fall under the jurisdiction of courts in Gorakhpur.
  14. Leave entitlement will be as per DoPT guidelines applicable to temporary appointments.
  15. The Institute will not be responsible for candidates failing to check the website for updates.
