The Madhya Pradesh Police Department, under the Home (Police) Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, has announced a major recruitment drive for 500 vacancies for the posts of Subedar and Sub-Inspector (General Duty) in various divisions including the Special Armed Force (SAF) and Other than SAF units. The recruitment will be organized by the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB). The application fee must be paid online through the official payment portal. Departmental exam fees will be collected later from candidates qualifying for the second stage.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized university or institution.
  • Degrees from recognized open or distance education universities are also acceptable.

Age Relaxation:

  • Sports Persons: Up to 5 years.
  • Ex-Servicemen: Service years deducted from age (max 3 years).
  • Retrenched Employees: Temporary service period up to 7 years (max 3 years).
  • Inter-Caste Married Couples: Up to 5 years for the higher-caste spouse.

Physical Standards

Candidates must meet the physical fitness standards set by the Madhya Pradesh Police Department. A valid Physical Fitness Certificate must be produced during document verification.

Nationality

Only Indian citizens are eligible. Domicile certificate of Madhya Pradesh is required to claim category-based relaxations and benefits.

Two-Child Norm

Candidates with more than two living children, one of whom is born on or after 26th January 2001, are not eligible to apply.

Salary and Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be appointed under Pay Matrix Level 9 of the Madhya Pradesh Government.

Additional allowances include Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance, and other admissible benefits. All employees will be covered under the New Pension Scheme (NPS) effective from 1st January 2005.

Selection Process

The selection will be conducted in multiple stages as mentioned below:

  1. Preliminary Examination:
    Objective-type exam to shortlist candidates for the next stage.
  2. Main Examination:
    Detailed written exam to assess subject knowledge and aptitude.
  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
    Physical endurance and measurement tests for shortlisted candidates.
  4. Document Verification:
    Verification of educational, caste, and identity documents.
  5. Final Merit List:
    Based on the marks obtained in the main exam and PET, subject to fulfilling all eligibility criteria.

Important Exam Instructions

  • Aadhaar Card is mandatory for all candidates.
  • Original photo ID (Voter ID, PAN, Driving License, or Passport) must be carried to the exam center.
  • Biometric verification will be conducted before entry.
  • No electronic devices, including mobile phones or calculators, will be allowed.
  • Candidates must carry their Admit Card and a blue or black ball pen.
