The Mukhiya Mantri Protsahan Yojna was launched by the Department of Higher Education, Himachal Pradesh, in 2013–14 to recognize and reward students from the state who gain admission to top national institutions. The scheme provides a one-time monetary incentive to students selected for degree courses in IITs and AIIMS or postgraduate diploma courses in IIMs, as well as courses at ISM Dhanbad and IISc Bangalore. This initiative aims to motivate students to pursue higher education in premier institutions, promote academic excellence, and support talented youth in achieving their educational and professional goals.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a native of Himachal Pradesh.
- Must have secured admission in IITs, AIIMS, IIMs, ISM Dhanbad, or IISc Bangalore.

- Must have an active bank account for receiving funds.
- Must submit all required documents, including marks certificates, domicile certificate, Aadhaar, and selection letter.
Reservation Policy
- The scheme is merit-based and applies to all eligible students from Himachal Pradesh.
- No caste or category-based reservation; eligibility is determined by admission in specified institutes.
- Rewards students purely based on merit and selection.
Distribution of Scholarships
- Application Submission: Students submit applications online.

Step-by-Step Application Process
Step 1: Registration
- Students register online with accurate personal and academic details.
- A Student Registration ID is generated for login and application.
Step 2: Login for Fresh Application
- Students log in using the Registration ID and access the “Fresh Application” section.
Step 3: Application Form Completion
- Complete personal, academic, and bank details.
- Provide details of the institute and course of admission.
Step 4: Upload Required Documents
- Passport-size photograph
- Aadhaar Card copy
- Himachali Bonafide Certificate
- Marks Certificates from matric onwards
- Latest Bank Statement
- Selection Letter from IIT/IIM/AIIMS/ISM/IISc
- Any other required documents
Step 5: Final Submission
- Review all details and documents carefully.
- Click “Final Submit” to complete the application.
- A system-generated registration number is provided for reference.
Step 6: Verification and Incentive Disbursement
- Institutes verify the application and documents.
- District/State Nodal Officers conduct final verification.
- Upon approval, the one-time incentive is credited to the student’s bank account.
