The Government of Tamil Nadu, through the Department of Social Welfare and Women Empowerment, has issued an official notification inviting applications from eligible candidates for contractual appointments at the One Stop Centre (OSC) in Coimbatore District.

These centres are established to provide integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence in both private and public spaces. The OSC offers essential services such as medical aid, police assistance, legal counseling, psychosocial support, and temporary shelter, all under one roof.

Interested and qualified applicants can apply for these posts offline by submitting their filled-in application forms to the District Social Welfare Office, Coimbatore on or before 22 October 2025, 1:00 PM.

Post-wise Eligibility Criteria

1. Centre Administrator – 02 Posts

  • Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Sociology from a recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of work experience in the field of women welfare, counselling, or social work, preferably in government or reputed NGOs.
  • Skills Required:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Good understanding of women’s rights and protection laws.
    • Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and handle crisis cases.
  • Age Limit: Preferably below 40 years.
  • Salary: ₹35,000/- per month (consolidated).

2. Senior Counselor – 02 Posts

  • Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience in counselling women affected by violence or working in rehabilitation/social welfare projects.
  • Skills Required:
    • Excellent communication and empathy skills.
    • Ability to handle sensitive cases with confidentiality.
    • Knowledge of government support systems and referral mechanisms.
  • Age Limit: Up to 40 years.
  • Salary: ₹22,000/- per month (consolidated).

3. IT Administrator – 02 Posts

  • Educational Qualification: Graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any equivalent discipline from a recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in IT administration, data management, or computer networking.
  • Skills Required:
    • Knowledge of database management, MS Office, and digital record maintenance.
    • Ability to handle hardware and software troubleshooting.
    • Understanding of data security and confidentiality protocols.
  • Age Limit: Maximum 35 years.
  • Salary: ₹20,000/- per month (consolidated).

4. Case Worker – 12 Posts

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Sociology from a recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in the field of social welfare, women and child protection, or counselling.
  • Skills Required:
    • Strong interpersonal and case management skills.
    • Ability to conduct field visits and provide psychosocial support to survivors.
    • Understanding of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act and related laws.
  • Age Limit: Up to 40 years.
  • Salary: ₹18,000/- per month (consolidated).

5. Security – 04 Posts

  • Educational Qualification: Should have passed 10th standard or equivalent from a recognized school or institution.
  • Experience: Preference will be given to ex-servicemen or candidates with experience in security duties.
  • Skills Required:
    • Discipline, alertness, and ability to maintain safety and order within the centre.
    • Willingness to work in shifts (including night duty).
  • Age Limit: Maximum 40 years.
  • Salary: ₹12,000/- per month (consolidated).

6. Multipurpose Helper – 04 Posts

  • Educational Qualification: Should have passed 10th standard or equivalent from a recognized school.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or cooking assistance in any government or private organization.
  • Skills Required:
    • Basic housekeeping and hygiene maintenance skills.
    • Ability to assist staff and residents with daily needs.
    • Good conduct and reliability.
  • Age Limit: Up to 40 years.
  • Salary: ₹10,000/- per month (consolidated).

Age Limit and Relaxation

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 40 years (as on 01.01.2025)
  • Age Relaxation:
    • As per Tamil Nadu Government norms.
    • Relaxation may be provided for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH categories as per government orders.

Eligibility (General Conditions)

  1. Citizenship: The candidate must be a citizen of India and a resident of Tamil Nadu.
  2. Gender: Only female candidates are eligible for the posts to ensure the safety and privacy of women beneficiaries.
  3. Language Proficiency: Must be able to read, write, and speak Tamil fluently.
  4. Character: The applicant should be of sound moral character with no criminal background.
  5. Work Nature: The work at OSC requires commitment to operate on a 24×7 basis, including rotational shifts and night duties.

Salary Structure

The salary will be on a consolidated basis with no additional allowances or benefits. However, it may be revised based on government norms.

Selection Process

The selection process for all positions will be conducted by the District Social Welfare Office, Coimbatore under the supervision of the District Collector.

Stages of Selection:

  1. Scrutiny of Applications: Applications will be reviewed for eligibility and completeness.
  2. Shortlisting: Based on educational qualifications and relevant experience.
  3. Interview / Skill Test: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview and/or skill assessment.
  4. Document Verification: Original certificates will be verified prior to final selection.

The final merit list will be prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the interview and relevant experience.
