The Indian Army invites applications from young, dynamic and motivated male candidates to join as Permanent Commissioned Officers through the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES-55). This prestigious entry offers an exceptional opportunity for students who have passed their 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and have appeared for JEE (Main) 2025. Selected candidates will receive comprehensive technical education and military training, culminating in a commission as Lieutenant in the Indian Army with an engineering degree, embarking on a career that combines professional excellence with service to the nation.

Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality:

Must be one of the following:

  • Citizen of India, or
  • Subject of Nepal, or
  • Person of Indian Origin who has migrated from specified countries with intention of permanently settling in India

Age Limit:

  • Born between 2nd January 2007 and 1st January 2010 (both dates inclusive)
  • Age as on 1st July 2026: 16½ to 19½ years

Educational Qualifications:

  • Passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • Minimum 60% aggregate marks in PCM subjects
  • Must have appeared for JEE (Main) 2025 examination

Marital Status:

  • Only unmarried male candidates are eligible
  • Candidates must give undertaking not to marry until completion of full training

Medical Standards:

  • Must meet the medical standards specified for Indian Army officers
  • Detailed medical requirements are available in the official notification

Selection Process:

  1. Shortlisting based on JEE (Main) 2025 scores
  2. SSB Interview (5-day process)
  3. Medical Examination
  4. Final Merit List
  5. Joining Letter

Salary and Benefits:

During Training:

  • Stipend during 4th year of training: ₹56,100/- per month
  • Full boarding, lodging and medical facilities
  • Engineering degree upon successful completion

After Commissioning as Lieutenant:

  • Starting Salary: Approximately ₹17-18 lakhs per annum (CTC)
  • Pay Scale: Level 10 (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500)
  • Military Service Pay: ₹15,500/- per month
  • Dearness Allowance, Kit Maintenance Allowance, Travel Allowance
  • Ration in kind, Risk & Hardship Allowances
  • Children Education Allowance, Hostel Subsidy
  • Leave Travel Concession, Insurance cover
  • Group Insurance of ₹1.25 Crores after commissioning

Career Progression:

  • Lieutenant → Captain (after 2 years)
  • Major (after 6 years)
  • Lieutenant Colonel (after 13 years)
  • Colonel (after 26 years)
  • Higher ranks on selection basis

Training Details:

  • Total Training Duration: 4 Years
  • Phase I (3 years): Basic Military and Engineering Training at Cadet Training Wings
  • Phase II (1 year): Advanced Military Training at Indian Military Academy, Dehradun
  • Commissioning: Permanent Commission in Indian Army
