NMDC Limited, a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, has invited eligible candidates for Apprenticeship Training at its Bailadila Iron Ore Mine (BIOM), Kirandul Complex, located in the Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. This recruitment drive is being conducted under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961, and its subsequent amendments, in collaboration with BOAT (NATS/NAPS).

This notification presents an excellent opportunity for Engineering Graduates, Diploma Holders, and ITI Trade Certificate holders to gain valuable hands-on industrial experience in one of India’s leading mining organizations.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Trade Apprentices (ITI): Candidates must have a valid ITI Trade Certificate (National or State Trade Certificate) from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
  • Graduate Apprentices: Candidates should possess a full-time Degree in Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy / BBA from a recognized university or institution.
  • Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Candidates must hold a Diploma in Engineering / Technology from a recognized institution.

Candidates must produce original certificates at the time of interview. Those awaiting results or without valid certificates are not eligible.

Age Limit (as on 26 October 2025)

  • Minimum Age: 16 years
  • Maximum Age: As per Apprenticeship Rules, 1992
  • Age Relaxation: Applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government of India norms.

Experience Criteria

  • Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training or are currently undergoing training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 are not eligible.
  • Candidates having more than one year of work experience after acquiring the qualification are also not eligible.
  • The gap between the date of qualification and date of contract creation on the NATS/NAPS portal must not exceed 5 years.

Selection Process

The selection will be made purely based on the walk-in interview performance and document verification.

  • The verification of eligibility and documents will be done by the Interview Help Desk and Interview Board members.
  • Candidates failing to meet any eligibility condition or unable to produce documents will be disqualified.
  • Suppression of information or submission of false documents will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • The final merit list will depend on the number of eligible candidates and their interview performance.

Documents Required at the Time of Interview

Candidates must carry originals and self-attested copies of the following documents:

  1. Approved registration proof from NAPS / NATS portal.
  2. Bio-data form with one recent passport-size photograph.
  3. 10th class certificate or birth certificate as age proof.
  4. Qualification certificates (ITI/Diploma/Degree).
  5. Caste certificate (if applicable) in the prescribed format (Annexure-II for SC/ST, Annexure-III for OBC).
  6. Valid photo identity proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or Voter ID).

Non-production of required certificates at the time of the interview will lead to rejection.

Stipend and Duration

  • The duration of apprenticeship training is one year.
  • Stipend will be paid as per the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 and relevant Government guidelines.
  • The exact stipend varies depending on the trade/discipline and will be based on the minimum rates prescribed by the Government of India for ITI, Diploma, and Graduate apprentices.
  • Apprentices will not receive TA/DA for attending the interview or during the training period.
  • Accommodation and food arrangements during training are to be managed by the apprentices themselves.

Reservation Policy

  • The reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC candidates will follow Government of India norms and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.
  • Valid caste certificates must be produced in the prescribed formats at the time of interview; otherwise, candidates will be considered under the general category.

General Instructions

  1. Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
  2. The period of apprenticeship is fixed at one year; extension will not be allowed.
  3. Apprenticeship training does not guarantee employment in NMDC after completion.
  4. NMDC reserves the right to modify or cancel the recruitment process without prior notice.
  5. The number of vacancies may vary depending on the final assessment and organizational requirements.
  6. Candidates must ensure all information provided is accurate; any discrepancy will lead to disqualification.

How to Apply for NMDC Apprenticeship 2025

Interested candidates must follow these steps before attending the interview:

Step 1: Register Online

  • Register on the appropriate apprenticeship portal.

Step 2: Prepare Documents

  • Download and print the approved profile pages from the respective portal.
  • Gather all original and self-attested copies of documents (educational, caste, ID proof, etc.).

Step 3: Attend the Walk-in Interview

  • Reach the Training Institute, BIOM, Kirandul Complex, before 1:00 PM on the respective date.
  • Fill the Google Form provided by the Help Desk on the day of the interview.
  • Participate in the interview and document verification process.

No prior application submission is required. Selection will be finalized on the day of the interview after document verification.
