Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has released a recruitment notification for the engagement of Operators on contract basis. Cochin Shipyard Limited is a Miniratna Category-A PSU under the Government of India and a premier shipbuilding and maintenance company located in Kochi, Kerala. Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens for the posts of Operator (Forklift / Aerial Work Platform) and Operator (Diesel Cranes).
The engagement will be on contract basis for a maximum duration of five years, depending on project requirements and performance.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Pass in 7th Standard
- Valid Heavy Vehicle License / Forklift License depending on the post
Experience
- Minimum one year of experience in operating Forklift or Aerial Work Platform (for relevant post)
- Minimum one year of experience in operating Diesel Cranes (for crane operator post)
- Training experience with stipend will be considered as work experience
Age Limit (as on 21 November 2025)
- Maximum age: 45 years
- Age relaxation:
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): +3 years
- SC: +5 years
- Ex-Servicemen / Retired CAPF: Up to 60 years
Pay Scale (Consolidated Monthly Salary)

Selection Process:
- Stage 1: Practical Test – A 100-mark evaluation.
- Qualifying Benchmarks:
- UR / EWS: 50%
- OBC (Reserved): 45%
- SC (Reserved): 40%
- Stage 2: Certificate Verification – For shortlisted candidates only.
- Final Merit: Determined 100% by test marks.
- Tie-Breaker: In case of equal marks, the older candidate is selected.
