Lok Nayak Hospital Senior Resident Recruitment 2025 – Walk-in Interview for 91 Posts

The Lok Nayak Hospital (LNH) under the Government of NCT of Delhi has issued an official notification inviting eligible Indian nationals to attend a walk-in interview for the post of Senior Resident (SR) on an ad-hoc basis. This short-term recruitment is being conducted to fill 91 vacant posts in various medical specialties of the hospital.

This opportunity is ideal for doctors holding postgraduate qualifications who wish to gain valuable experience in one of Delhi’s largest multi-specialty government hospitals. The appointment will initially be for 44 days or until a regular Senior Resident joins, whichever is earlier. The engagement will follow the Residency Scheme of the Government of India (GOI) dated 5th June 1992 and as extended by the Government of NCT of Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

1. For General Specialties:
   • MBBS with Post Graduate Degree / DNB / Diploma / Post Doctoral Degree or equivalent qualification in the concerned specialty from an NMC / MCI recognized institute or university.
   • Candidates should preferably possess Delhi Medical Council (DMC) registration in the concerned specialty/super-specialty.
2. For Emergency Medicine:
   • MBBS with PG Degree / DNB / Diploma or Post Doctoral Degree in General Medicine, Anesthesia, or Emergency Medicine.
   • If no eligible candidates with PG qualifications in Emergency Medicine are available, candidates with related qualifications may be considered for temporary appointment.
3. For Medical Genetics:
   • MBBS with PG Degree / DNB / Diploma or equivalent in Pediatrics, Medicine, or Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
   • Candidates without the specified qualification may be considered temporarily until suitable PG-qualified candidates join.
4. Completion of PG Course:
   • Candidates must have completed the tenure of PG Degree/DNB/Diploma and their results must be declared before the date of the interview.

Age Limit (as on the date of interview)

• General / EWS: Up to 45 years
• OBC: 3 years relaxation (only if OBC certificate issued by GNCT of Delhi)
• SC / ST: 5 years relaxation

Note: Candidates must produce valid proof of age and caste category at the time of the interview.

Pay Scale and Allowances

• Pay Matrix Level: Level-11 (7th CPC)
• Salary Range: ₹67,700 – ₹2,08,700 per month
• Additional Benefits: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other allowances as per government norms.

Tenure of Appointment

• The appointment of Senior Residents will be purely on an adhoc basis for 44 days or until a regular Senior Resident joins, whichever is earlier.
• The maximum total period of Senior Residency, including previous adhoc or regular service, should not exceed three years in any NMC-recognized institution.
• No NOC will be issued unless the candidate has completed at least 89 days of continuous service.
• Candidates are not permitted to attend conferences or workshops exceeding three days during their tenure.
• The appointment will not be extended or renewed automatically after the completion of the 44-day term.

Relaxation Rules (as per Delhi Govt. Circular)

As per the circular dated 10 June 2011, the following relaxations will apply:

1. In departments facing perpetual shortage of doctors like Radiology, Anesthesia, etc., candidates who have already completed three years of Senior Residency may also apply.
2. Separate merit lists will be prepared for fresh candidates and those who have completed three years of residency.
3. Preference will be given first to fresh candidates. The second list (experienced candidates) will only be considered if vacancies remain.
4. Candidates selected from the second list will be appointed for a maximum of one year, not renewable thereafter.

Selection Process

• The selection will be based solely on a walk-in interview.
• There will be no written examination or online test.
• Candidates must bring all required original documents and self-attested photocopies for verification.
• If the number of candidates is high, the interview may continue the next working day, and candidates must stay informed accordingly.
• No separate communication, email, or call letter will be issued.
• The merit list prepared in this interview will remain valid only until the next notification.

Note: Candidates with pending DMC registration must provide acknowledgment and submit the DMC certificate within one month of joining.

Application Process

Step 1 – Prepare Application Form

Step 2 – Submit Documents

• Submit the completed application form along with all required enclosures at AMS (A) Office, E-I Branch of Lok Nayak Hospital between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM.
• Applications submitted after 10:30 AM will not be accepted.

Step 3 – Attend Walk-in Interview

• Report to the Department HOD Office at 12:00 Noon for the interview on the scheduled date.
• Bring original documents for verification during the interview.

Step 4 – Selection and Joining

• Selected candidates will receive an offer letter and must join within 10 days of its issuance.
• Failing to join within the given time frame will result in automatic cancellation of the offer.
• No request for extension will be considered.
