Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Limited (OHPC) is a prestigious State Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), certified under ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001. With an installed capacity of 2099.80 MW, OHPC operates six major hydroelectric power projects within Odisha and one inter-state project.

The corporation not only manages existing hydro projects but also promotes investments in renewable and green energy through GEDCOL, its wholly owned subsidiary. It is steadily broadening its reach by setting up new hydroelectric and pumped storage power projects throughout the state.

Dated 07 November 2025, OHPC has formally announced a recruitment drive for Technical Non-Executive (TNE) Trainees in various trades. The initiative aims to enhance manpower and support smooth operations across OHPC’s different units and project locations throughout Odisha.

Additional Allowances During Training:

  • Medical Allowance: ₹200/- per month
  • Remote Area Allowance: ₹500/- per month (for postings at BHEP, Balimela & UIHEP, Mukhiguda)
    After successful completion of training, trainees will receive Basic Pay, DA, HRA, and other allowances as per OHPC rules.

Pay Scale and Stipend

During the training period, selected candidates will receive a consolidated stipend of ₹22,700 per month, plus:

  • Medical Allowance: ₹200 per month
  • Remote Area Allowance: ₹500 per month (for postings at BHEP Balimela and UIHEP Mukhiguda)

After successful completion of the training, candidates will be placed in the following regular pay scale:

  • Pay Matrix: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100
  • Initial Basic Pay: ₹25,500

They will also be eligible for Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other admissible allowances as per OHPC rules.

Training Period

  • The training period will be one year, extendable if required.
  • On successful completion, candidates will be regularized in their respective cadres.
  • They will serve a probation period of one year post-regularization.
  • Trainees may be terminated during training without notice if performance is unsatisfactory.

Educational Qualification

Age Relaxation:

Reservation Policy

  • Reservations for SC/ST/SEBC/Women/PWD/Ex-Servicemen/Sports Persons are applicable as per Odisha Government rules.
  • Only residents of Odisha are eligible for SC/ST/SEBC benefits.
  • Candidates must upload valid certificates issued by competent authorities (Tahasildar or above).
  • OBC certificates will not be accepted in place of SEBC.
  • Women candidates must produce caste certificates showing “daughter of…” (not “wife of…”).

Selection Process

The recruitment process will include a Computer-Based Test (CBT), and candidates who qualify will be called for document verification.

Computer-Based Test (CBT):

  • The CBT will contain 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) divided into two parts:
    • Part I: 40 questions on General Aptitude (Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English, and General Awareness)
    • Part II: 80 questions related to the candidate’s trade/discipline
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Marking Scheme:
    • +1 for each correct answer
    • -0.25 for each wrong answer (negative marking)
  • Medium: English

Document Verification:

  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification at Bhubaneswar.
  • Final selection will be purely merit-based and subject to medical fitness and verification of original documents.

    • Passport-size photo (100KB–200KB)
    • Signature (80KB–150KB)
    • Scanned certificates (PDF, 100KB–1MB each)
    • Merge multiple pages into a single file before uploading.
  5. Pay the Application Fee (if applicable) using the online payment gateway.
  6. Submit the Form and download a copy for your records.
  7. Download Admit Card before the exam date from the OHPC website.
