Pay Scale

The selected candidates will receive a monthly salary as per the ICAR/UGC-approved 7th Pay Commission scales:

  • Professor: Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,78,200
  • Associate Professor: Rs. 1,31,400 – 2,17,100
  • Assistant Professor: Rs. 57,700 – 1,82,400

In addition to the basic pay, other admissible allowances such as DA, HRA, and medical benefits will be provided as per university norms.

Eligibility Criteria

1. For Professor

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science / Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry from a recognized University (SAU/SVU/Deemed/ICAR/UGC).
  • A Master’s Degree with a minimum of 55% marks is required (50% for SC/ST candidates).
  • Ph.D. degree in the concerned or allied discipline.
  • Must have at least 10 research publications in NAAS-rated or UGC-listed journals.
  • Minimum 10 years of teaching/research/extension experience at a University or recognized research institution.
  • Out of the total experience, at least 2 years as Associate Professor is mandatory.

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Kannada is mandatory.
  • Candidates without Kannada language knowledge must qualify a Kannada proficiency test carrying 150 marks, with a minimum of 50% required to pass.

2. For Associate Professor

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science / Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry from a recognized University.
  • Master’s Degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST).
  • Ph.D. in the concerned or allied discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of teaching/research/extension experience equivalent to Assistant Professor.
  • At least 7 publications in NAAS-rated or UGC-listed journals.

Other Requirements:

  • Kannada language proficiency is compulsory, with the same language test rule as above.

3. For Assistant Professor

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science / Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry.
  • Master’s Degree in the concerned discipline with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST).
  • Must have cleared NET conducted by ICAR/UGC/CSIR or equivalent.
    OR
    Hold a Ph.D. in accordance with UGC/ICAR norms.

Age Limit:

  • General Category: Maximum 38 years
  • OBC: 41 years
  • SC/ST/Cat-I: 43 years
    (Age relaxation applicable as per Government of Karnataka rules.)

Language Requirement:

  • Kannada knowledge is mandatory. Those who did not study Kannada in SSLC must clear the language test.

Application Fee

Candidates must pay the prescribed non-refundable application fee online through the KVAFSU portal after filling out the application form.

  • For General, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B Candidates: ₹1000
  • For SC/ST/Cat-I Candidates: ₹500

After successful payment, candidates can download the application receipt which must be submitted during document verification.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be done strictly according to the KVAFSU-prescribed Qualifications, Score Card, and Guidelines for Direct Recruitment of Teachers (No:R/KVAFSU/ACM-CA/Teaching Scd/2025-26 dated 12.11.2025).

Stages of Selection:

  1. Screening of Applications: Based on eligibility and completeness of documents.
  2. Shortlisting: As per the score card and academic performance.
  3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview and Kannada test (if applicable).
  4. Document Verification: Original certificates, research publications, and experience records will be verified.
