Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the post of Senior Resident / Senior Demonstrator must possess a Postgraduate Medical Degree (MD/MS/DNB) or equivalent in the concerned specialty from a recognized university/institute.
Certain departments also accept Ph.D. holders (for non-medical Senior Demonstrator roles) in relevant disciplines.

  • Anatomy (Medical): MD/DNB in Anatomy
  • Anatomy (Non-Medical): M.Sc./M.Biotech + Ph.D. in the concerned subject
  • Community Medicine: MD/DNB in Community Medicine
  • General Medicine: MD/DNB in Medicine
  • General Surgery: MS/DNB in General Surgery
  • Paediatrics: MD/DNB in Paediatrics
  • Radiology: MD/DNB in Radio-Diagnosis
  • Trauma & Emergency Medicine: MD in Emergency Medicine / Medicine / MS in Surgery
  • Hospital Administration: MD/DNB in Hospital Administration
  • Neurosurgery: MS/DNB in Surgery or M.Ch/DNB in Neurosurgery
  • Cardiology / Nephrology / Gastroenterology / Endocrinology: MD/DNB in Medicine/Paediatrics or DM/DNB in the respective super-specialty

2. Cut-off Date

The cut-off date for determining eligibility (qualification, age, and experience) is 31st October 2025.

Candidates must have completed and declared the result of their qualifying degree examination on or before this date. The tenure of the qualifying degree must also be completed by the same date.

3. Age Limit

The upper age limit for Senior Resident / Senior Demonstrator posts generally follows AIIMS recruitment rules (usually 45 years as per previous cycles), with relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD candidates as per Government of India norms.

  2. EWS Candidates:
    • Must possess a valid EWS certificate issued on or after 01.04.2025.
  3. SC/ST Candidates:
    • Must possess a valid community certificate issued by a competent authority.
  4. PwBD Candidates:
    • Relaxation and reservation benefits are applicable as per Government of India norms.

Selection Process

The selection process for AIIMS Jammu Senior Residents / Demonstrators involves:

  1. Provisional Scrutiny:
    Applications will be provisionally accepted based on information submitted online. There will be no pre-screening before the interview.
  2. Document Verification:
    On the day of the interview, original documents will be verified by the Scrutiny Committee. Only candidates found eligible after document scrutiny will be permitted to appear for the interview.
  3. Interview:
    Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in person at AIIMS Vijaypur, Jammu.

Important Instructions

  • Candidates already employed in Government / Semi-Government / PSU institutions must apply through proper channel or submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at the time of the interview.
  • Failure to produce the NOC may lead to disqualification.
  • If no suitable candidate is available under a reserved category, the post may be temporarily filled by a candidate from another category for a period not exceeding 44 days, as per Government of India guidelines.
