The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rajkot, Gujarat, an autonomous institute of national importance under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has released an official recruitment notification for Junior Resident (Non-Academic) posts on an adhoc/contract basis for six months.

This recruitment drive provides an excellent opportunity for MBBS graduates who wish to begin their medical career at one of India’s prestigious institutes. The appointment will be made in accordance with the Residency Scheme of the Government of India, ensuring fair selection and structured training for young doctors.

Application Fee

Applicants are required to pay the fee online. The category-wise application fee is given below:

  • General / OBC / EWS: ₹1,000 + 18% GST = ₹1,180
  • SC / ST: ₹800 + 18% GST = ₹944
  • PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities): No fee

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the AIIMS Rajkot Junior Resident Recruitment 2025, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Educational Qualification

  • MBBS degree from an institute/medical college recognized by NMC/MCI.
  • Completion of compulsory rotatory internship is mandatory, with a valid internship completion certificate.
  • Candidates must be registered with the Medical Council of India/State Medical Council.

Age Limit (as on 31 October 2025)

  • General/UR: Maximum 30 years
  • OBC: Relaxation up to 3 years (maximum 33 years)
  • SC/ST: Relaxation up to 5 years (maximum 35 years)
  • PwBD: Relaxation up to 10 years for UR, 13 years for OBC, and 15 years for SC/ST

Additional Conditions

  • Maximum of three terms (each term = 6 months) are allowed for Junior Residency in AIIMS. Even if a candidate leaves midway, it will be counted as one term.
  • Candidates in Government service must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at the time of interview/document verification.
  • Candidates must have completed their MBBS degree and internship by 31 October 2025.

Pay Scale

Selected candidates for the post of Junior Resident (Non-Academic) will receive:

  • Pay as per 7th CPC – Level 10 of Pay Matrix
  • Entry Pay: ₹56,100/- per month + NPA (Non-Practicing Allowance) + other admissible allowances
  • (Pre-revised scale: ₹15,600–39,100 with Grade Pay of ₹5,400 + NPA)

Selection Process

The selection will be based on the following:

  1. Written Examination (MCQ-based) – 80% weightage
  2. Interview – 20% weightage
  • The list of eligible candidates will be published on the official AIIMS Rajkot website.
  • The exact schedule for exam, document verification, and interview will be notified later.
  • The final merit list will be published on the official website.
