Salary Structure

The selected Civil Assistant Surgeons will be paid according to the pay scale of ₹61,960 – ₹1,51,370 with regular increments as per state government rules.

Selection Process

The recruitment process will be purely merit-based, with no interviews. Candidates will be evaluated on a 100-point scale consisting of academic marks and service weightage.

Academic Marks (Maximum 75 Points)

  • Candidates can earn up to 75 points based on the percentage of marks obtained in the MBBS qualifying examination.
  • If the result is in CGPA or grade points, conversion into percentage will be done as per government guidelines.
  • Foreign MBBS Degree Holders: Marks will be converted to grades and points as per the following:
    • A Grade (80–100%): 45 points
    • B Grade (65–80%): 41.25 points
    • C Grade (Below 65%): 37.5 points
  • If marks/grades are unclear (such as credits, hours, or GPA), candidates will be assigned C Grade (37.5 points).
  • If MBBS marks memo is not uploaded, the candidate will be considered ineligible.

Service Weightage (Maximum 25 Points)

  • Up to 10 points for each completed year of service after internship.
  • Up to 15 points for contract service in government institutions.

Breakdown:

  • COVID-19 Duties: 5 marks per 6 months (0.83 marks per month)
  • Tribal Area Service: 2.5 marks per 6 months
  • Rural Area Service: 2 marks per 6 months
  • Urban Area Service: 1 mark per 6 months

Conditions:

  • Service of less than 6 months will not be counted.
  • Different service spells cannot be combined.
  • Only service rendered in the same post category will be considered.
  • For COVID-19 weightage, candidates must submit appointment orders, service certificates, and bank statements showing payment.

Tie-Breaking Criteria

If two candidates secure equal marks, preference will be given to the candidate with higher age.

Merit List

The APMSRB will prepare and publish the merit list on its website after evaluation. Final selection will be strictly based on the ranking in this merit list.

Educational Qualification

  • Essential Qualification: MBBS degree from a recognized university with APMC registration.
  • Candidates awaiting APMC registration can obtain and submit it before the last date of application.

Equivalent Qualification

Any claim of an equivalent qualification will be reviewed by an Expert Committee constituted by APMSRB. The committee’s decision will be final.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 42 years (as on 01.07.2025)

Age Relaxations

  • AP State Government Employees: Up to 5 years (based on length of regular service)
  • Ex-Servicemen: 3 years plus service length
  • NCC Instructors: 3 years plus service length
  • SC/ST/BC/EWS: 5 years
  • Persons with Disabilities: 10 years

Special Notes:

  • Ex-servicemen dismissed for misconduct are not eligible.
  • NCC relaxation is applicable to full-time Cadet Corps Instructors with a minimum of six months service.
