AP NHM 2025 Recruitment for Specialist Doctors & Medical Officers: Complete Guide

The Andhra Pradesh Medical Services Recruitment Board (APMSRB) has announced a new recruitment notification for the posts of Specialist Doctors and Medical Officers under the National Health Mission (NHM) and Tele Medicine Hub. This recruitment provides an excellent opportunity for medical professionals to work on a contract basis with attractive remuneration and gain experience in public health services across rural, urban, and tribal regions.

Important Dates

Candidates must note the following key dates:

  • Notification Date: 22nd August 2025
  • Start Date for Online Application: 25th August 2025

The merit list prepared under this notification will remain valid for one year or until the next notification is issued, whichever comes first.

Age Limit

The maximum age of candidates will be reckoned as on the date of the notification (22nd August 2025).

  • OC candidates: Maximum 42 years
  • EWS/SC/ST/BC candidates: Maximum 47 years
  • Differently-abled persons: Maximum 52 years
  • Ex-servicemen: Maximum 50 years

Candidates exceeding the specified age limits will not be eligible to apply.

Pay & Allowances

The remuneration for the posts is attractive considering it is a contract position under NHM:

Medical Officers: ₹61,960 per month

Specialist Doctors (General Physician, Gynecologist, Pediatrician): ₹1,10,000 – ₹1,40,000 per month depending on the programme and area (Urban/Rural/Tribal)

Selection Procedure

The selection of candidates will be merit-based and will follow the rules of reservation as per government norms. The process includes:

  1. Merit List Preparation:
    • Merit lists will be prepared for candidates who have applied online and fulfilled all eligibility conditions.
    • The selection will follow merit and roster points as per the reservation rules of AP State and Subordinate Services.
  2. Total Marks & Weightage:
    • Total Marks: 100
    • PG Degree holders: 75% of marks obtained in their qualification
    • Diploma holders: 65% of marks obtained in their qualification
    • In absence of marks memo, 50% marks will be considered.
  3. Grade to Marks Conversion:
    • Grade A (Distinction): 75–85% (Mean 80%)
    • Grade B+ (Above Average): 65–74% (Mean 70%)
    • Grade B (Pass): 50–64% (Mean 57%)
  4. Weightage for Waiting Period:
    • Maximum of 10 marks @ 1 mark per completed year from the date of passing the qualifying examination to the date of notification.
  5. Weightage for Contract / Outsourced / COVID-19 Service:
    • Up to 15 marks for service rendered on contract or outsourcing, including COVID-19 service.
    • Less than 6 months of COVID-19 service: 0.83 marks per completed month.
    • Weightage applies for service in the relevant specialty and also for COVID-19 work irrespective of specialty, as per government orders.

How to Apply

The online application process is simple and must be completed within the given timeframe:

  2. Fill Application Form:
    • Select the post applied for.

    • Recent passport-size photograph

    • If studying privately, provide residence certificate from MRO for the last 7 years

    • Payment of the fee is mandatory for successful registration.
    • After successful payment, retain the registration number for future reference.
