Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), a Maharatna Company under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has released a fresh notification inviting online applications for Apprenticeship Training in its Northern Region – I. This is a great opportunity for ITI, Diploma, Graduate Engineering, and other degree holders to kickstart their careers with India’s largest power transmission company. A total of 199 apprenticeship positions are available across different states including Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan Project Units. The apprenticeship program will be for one year under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates should possess full-time regular qualifications in the respective discipline from a recognized institute/university.
- ITI Trade Apprentice (Electrician): ITI (Electrician) full-time course
- Diploma Apprentice (Electrical/Civil): 3-year full-time Diploma in Engineering
- Graduate Apprentice (Electrical/Civil/CS): B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) in relevant discipline
- HR Executive: MBA (HR)/PG Diploma in Personnel Management or equivalent
- CSR Executive: MSW / Master in Rural Development or equivalent
- Law Executive: LLB (3-year or 5-year full-time course)
- PR Assistant: Bachelor in Mass Communication / Journalism / BA (Journalism & Mass Comm.)
- Rajbhasha Assistant: BA in Hindi with good knowledge of English
Note: Distance learning, part-time, or correspondence qualifications are not accepted.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: As per Apprenticeship Act rules (generally 27 years, relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per Govt. norms).
Stipend (Salary During Apprenticeship)
The selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per their qualification:
- ITI (Electrician): ₹13,500/-
- Diploma (Electrical/Civil): ₹15,000/- (including ₹4,000 DBT allowance)
- Graduate (Electrical/Civil/CS): ₹17,500/- (including ₹4,500 DBT allowance)
- Executives (HR/CSR/PR/Law/Rajbhasha): ₹17,500/-
Additional ₹2,500/- will be paid if company accommodation is not provided/availed.
Selection Process
- No written exam or interview will be conducted.
- Selection will be purely on merit basis, depending on marks obtained in qualifying examination (ITI/Diploma/Degree).
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification in a ratio of 1:5.
- Final engagement will be based on successful verification, medical fitness, and police verification.

The apprenticeship training will be conducted in various Powergrid establishments across:
- Delhi (Dwarka, Maharanibagh, Jhatikara, Tughlakabad, Narela, etc.)
- Haryana (Faridabad, Gurgaon, Manesar, Hisar, Sonipat, etc.)
- Uttar Pradesh (Dadri, Meerut, Saharanpur, Bagpat, Mandola, etc.)
- Rajasthan (Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Bikaner, etc.)
- Uttarakhand (Dehradun, Roorkee, Rishikesh, Koteshwar, etc.)

- Fill the application form carefully and submit.
There is no application fee and the process is fully online.
General Instructions
- Candidates must apply for only one state/region. Multiple applications will be rejected.
- Only freshers are eligible – those with job experience or who have already undergone apprenticeship training are not eligible.
- Apprenticeship will not lead to regular employment in Powergrid.
- Applicants must have an Aadhaar-linked bank account for stipend transfer.
- Final selection is subject to medical fitness and police verification.
