The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has announced an exciting recruitment drive to fill 25 posts of Assistant Section Officer (ASO) through the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE). This opportunity is specially designed for Upper Division Clerks (UDC) of the District Ministerial Cadre and Senior Secretariat Assistants (SSA) of the Arunachal Pradesh Secretariat Clerical Service Cadre, who meet the eligibility criteria. Candidates with a proven track record of service, holding at least a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university, and having completed six years of regular service in their respective grade, are eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy the following requirements to be considered eligible:

  1. Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized university.
  2. Experience: Minimum six years of regular service in the grade of Upper Division Clerk (UDC) or Senior Secretariat Assistant (SSA).
  3. Performance Record: Candidates must have at least 1 ‘Very Good’ consecutive Annual Confidential Report (ACR)/Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR) grading for the last five years.
  4. Age Limit: 18 to 40 years (as on 01/01/2025). 

Pay Scale and Benefits

  • The post of Assistant Section Officer is classified under Group-B (Non-Gazetted).
  • Pay scale is Level-6 in the Arunachal Pradesh Pay Matrix: ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400.
  • Candidates will also be entitled to benefits and allowances as per state government rules applicable to Group-B officers.

Method of Selection

The selection of candidates will be based on a written examination followed by a viva-voce (interview) conducted by APPSC. The written exam will test candidates on the following subjects:

Important Note: Candidates must score at least 33% of total marks in the written examination and at least 20% in each subject/paper to qualify for the interview.

Application Procedure

Eligible candidates must apply through a duly filled application form recommended by the Cadre Controlling Authority. The form must include details of ACR/APAR grading for the last five consecutive years. Only applications nominated by the Cadre Controlling Authority will be considered.

Candidates should submit the applications along with the required documents in person or through proper channels to the office of APPSC before the deadline.

Application Fee

  • APST Candidates: ₹150 (Rupees One Hundred Fifty) only
  • Other Candidates: ₹200 (Rupees Two Hundred) only
    The fee must be paid in the form of an Indian Postal Order (IPO).

Documents Required

Applicants are required to submit self-attested photocopies along with original documents for verification during the interview. Required documents include:

  1. Latest recent color passport-size photograph with white background.
  2. Self-attested copies of degree certificates and mark sheets from a recognized university.
  3. Self-attested copy of matriculation certificate for proof of age.
  4. Self-attested APST certificate (for reserved candidates) and PRC/Aadhaar card.
  5. Self-attested appointment order to the current post.
  6. IPO of the application fee paid.

Selection and Joining

  • Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the written examination and viva-voce.
  • The final selection will be provisional and subject to verification of requisite documents and qualifications.
  • Selected candidates must present original certificates and documents during the interview. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
  • Appointees will be governed by the service rules and pay matrix of Group-B (Non-Gazetted), Level-6 and will be posted as per administrative requirements.

Additional Notes

  • The decision of APPSC regarding eligibility, written examination, interview, and final selection will be final and binding.
  • Only applications recommended by the Cadre Controlling Authority will be accepted.
  • In case of discrepancies or misrepresentation of facts by any candidate, candidature will be canceled and appropriate administrative action will be taken.
