Purpose and Background of the Recruitment

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Special Educator posts in LP schools, candidates must meet the following requirements:
1. Nationality and Domicile
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen in accordance with Articles 5–8 of the Indian Constitution.
- Must be a permanent resident of Assam.
2. Educational Qualification
Essential Qualification:
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
- Graduates who have a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (Special Education) and have cleared Assam TET (ATET) or Central TET (CTET) can also apply.(No extra marks will be awarded for Graduation in this case.)
- Candidates with “Not Clear (NC)” status in any qualification will not be considered eligible.
3. Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) Requirement
- Must have passed Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) or Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for Lower Primary Schools.
- Either Language-I or Language-II of the TET must match the medium of instruction of the school applied for.
4. Age Limit (as on 1st August 2025)
- General/Unreserved: 18 – 40 years
- Ex-Servicemen: up to 42 years
- OBC/MOBC: up to 43 years
- SC/ST(P)/ST(H): up to 45 years
- Persons with Disability (PwD): up to 50 years
5. Family Norm Compliance
- Candidates having more than two living children on or after 1st January 2021 are not eligible as per the government’s Small Family Norms (Notification No. ABP.69/2019/17 dated 06/11/2019 & ABP.69/2019/18 dated 16/11/2019).
- A self-declaration regarding this must be submitted during the application.
Conditions of Recruitment
