Educational Qualification Requirements

1. Engineering Disciplines

Candidates applying for Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Naval Architecture, and Robotics posts must possess a full-time regular Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in the respective field from a recognized university or institution. You must have at least a first-class grade or 60% marks (or an equivalent CGPA).

  • Electrical: Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Electrical & Instrumentation

  • Robotics: Covers Robotics, Robotics with Automation, or Robotics with AI.

Important Notes:

  • Candidates in the final year of their degree can also apply, provided they meet the minimum academic criteria up to the last semester. Final degree completion and submission of proof with required marks are mandatory before joining.
  • Postgraduate integrated degree courses are eligible if the course duration is 5 years after 10+2.

2. Finance Discipline

Candidates applying for Management Trainee (Finance) must be Graduates and also qualified Chartered Accountants (CA) or Cost Accountants (ICMA) from recognized institutes in India. For professional degrees like CA/ICMA, candidates who pass with minimum pass percentage are eligible.

Age Limit

The upper age limit for candidates as on 31.07.2025 is as follows:

  • Unreserved (UR): 28 years
  • Other Backward Class (OBC-NCL): 31 years
  • Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST): 33 years

Age Relaxation:

  • Age relaxation will be provided to PwBD and Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India rules.
  • Internal candidates may also be eligible for additional relaxation according to GSL regulations.

Selection Procedure

The selection of candidates will follow a multi-stage process to ensure merit-based recruitment. The stages are:

1. Written Test

All eligible candidates must appear for a written examination, which can be conducted as Computer Based Test (CBT) or Pen & Paper Test (PBT).

Qualifying Marks:

  • UR & EWS: 50% and above

Depending on the number of applicants, the management may shortlist candidates in the ratio of 1:5 for document verification and interview, ensuring minimum passing marks.

2. Document Verification

Candidates shortlisted based on written test performance will be required to produce original documents for verification. Documents include:

  • Proof of educational qualifications
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • PwBD certificate (if applicable)
  • Date of birth proof
  • Any other relevant certificates

3. Interview

Candidates who clear document verification will appear for a personal interview, carrying 15 marks.

Qualifying Marks:

  • SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD – 45% and above

Final Selection: Candidates will be selected based on aggregate marks in the written test and interview, adhering to reservation policies. In case of a tie, seniority in age will determine the merit.

Training

Selected candidates will undergo “On the Job Training” for one year, which may be extended if necessary. This training is designed to give hands-on experience in shipbuilding, repair, and marine engineering projects.
