HURL, incorporated on 15th June 2016, is a joint venture of Coal India Limited (CIL), NTPC Limited (NTPC), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited (FCIL), and Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Limited (HFCL). Its main objective is to establish and operate environment-friendly, energy-efficient Natural Gas-based fertilizer complexes producing Ammonia (2200 MTPD) and Urea (3850 MTPD), including neem-coated urea (1.27 MMTPA), across three locations: Gorakhpur (UP), Barauni (Bihar), and Sindri (Jharkhand).
Overview of HURL Gorakhpur Apprenticeship Program
The HURL apprenticeship program is designed to provide hands-on industrial training to fresh graduates and diploma holders in engineering and science disciplines. It is a one-year structured program under the Apprentices Act, 1961 (as amended), aimed at bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical industrial exposure.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the HURL Gorakhpur Apprenticeship 2025, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
1. Educational Qualifications:
- Technician Apprentice: Full-time position requiring a regular diploma in the relevant engineering field from an AICTE-approved institute.
- Graduate Apprentice: Full-time, regular B.Sc. degree in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized institution.
Important:
- Candidates with qualifications obtained through distance learning, part-time, correspondence, or any non-regular mode are not eligible.
- Candidates holding higher professional qualifications such as B.E./B.Tech., MBA, MCA, CA, ICWA, LLB, or equivalent are not eligible.
- Candidates who have previously undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training in any organization, including other HURL units, are not eligible.
2. Age Limit:
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 25 years (as on 31.07.2025)
- Relaxation: As per government norms (where applicable)
3. Experience:
- Candidates with more than one year of prior apprenticeship training or relevant experience as of 31.07.2025 are not eligible.
4. Other Requirements:
Candidates must possess:
- PAN Card
- Aadhaar Card
- Active Bank Account with a cheque book in their name
- Bank account seeded with Aadhaar and enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)
- Active email ID and mobile number for communication throughout the selection process
Stipend Details
- Graduate Apprentice Trainee: ₹9,000 per month
- Diploma Apprentice Trainee: ₹8,000 per month
Important Notes:
- The stipend is strictly for the duration of the one-year apprenticeship.
- No additional benefits such as accommodation, transportation, or allowances will be provided. Candidates must arrange for their own stay.
- Completion of the apprenticeship does not confer any employment rights in HURL.
Posting of Apprenticeship
- Location: HURL Gorakhpur Unit, Uttar Pradesh
- All chosen candidates will receive on-site training at the Gorakhpur location.
- Training provides practical exposure to fertilizer production, instrumentation, electrical systems, chemical processing, mechanical operations, and civil engineering activities within the plant.
Selection Procedure
The selection of candidates for HURL Gorakhpur Apprenticeship 2025 will be purely merit-based.
Key Points of Selection:
- Merit List: Candidates will be shortlisted based on percentage of marks obtained in essential qualification.
- No Written Test or Interview: Selection will not involve any written exam or interview.
- Tie-Breaker: If two or more candidates have the same marks, the older candidate (based on date of birth) will be given preference.
