IIT ISM Dhanbad Faculty Recruitment 2025 – Apply Online for 105 Teaching Posts

The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad has launched a Special Recruitment Drive (SRD) exclusively for SC, ST, and OBC-NCL candidates, including eligible Persons with Disabilities (PwD). This special drive aims to fill faculty positions at the levels of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor across several academic departments.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Ph.D. in relevant discipline.
• First-class or equivalent in the prior degree.
• Strong academic record throughout.
• Good CPI/CGPA/Percentage in Ph.D. coursework (where applicable).
• Proven research contributions.

Age Limit

Age Relaxation:
Applicable for SC, ST, OBC-NCL and PwD candidates as per Government norms.

Experience Requirements

Assistant Professor

Grade-II (Contract)

• Applicants should have under three years of post-Ph.D. experience. experience in teaching, research, or industry.

Grade-I (Regular)

• Minimum 3 years post-Ph.D experience in Research/Teaching/Industry.

Associate Professor

• Minimum 6 years of teaching/research/industry experience.
• At least 3 years as Assistant Professor (Level 12) or equivalent.
• Must show evidence of:
  • Ph.D. supervision
  • Quality publications
  • Patents (if applicable)
  • Lab or course development
  • Professional contributions

Professor

• Minimum 10 years experience in teaching/research/industry.
• At least 4 years as Associate Professor in IITs/IISc/IIMs/IISERs or equivalent national/international institutions.
• Must demonstrate:
  • Research leadership
  • Ph.D. guidance
  • Strong academic publications
  • Laboratory/course creation
  • Recognized professional contributions

Pay Scale (7th CPC)

Assistant Professor Grade-II

• Level 10
• Minimum Basic Pay: ₹70,900
• Total Emoluments (approx):
  • With HRA: ₹1,47,573
  • Without HRA: ₹1,33,393

Assistant Professor Grade-I

• Level 12
• Minimum Basic Pay: ₹1,01,500
• Total Emoluments (approx):
  • With HRA: ₹2,08,810
  • Without HRA: ₹1,88,510

Associate Professor

• Level 13A2
• Minimum Basic Pay: ₹1,39,600
• Total Emoluments (approx):

Selection Process

The selection process will generally include:

1. Screening of Applications
   Based on academic achievements, research output, and relevant experience.
2. Shortlisting
   Only candidates found suitable by the institutional screening committee will be called for interview.
3. Interview / Presentation
   Candidates may need to present research work, teaching philosophy, or seminar.

Travel Reimbursement

• Reimbursement of AC 2-tier train fare or Economy Class airfare (within India).
• Tickets must be booked through authorized agents (IRCTC, Balmer Lawrie, Ashoka Travels).
