Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
For Consultant (Full-Time)
- MBBS + MD/DNB in the relevant specialty
- Qualification must be recognized by NMC
For Senior Registrar
- MBBS + MD/DNB in the relevant discipline
- Qualification must be from a recognized hospital/institution
For Junior Registrar
- MBBS degree from a recognized institute
- Completion of 1-year compulsory rotating internship
Mandatory Registration
All candidates must be registered with:
- State Medical Council or
- MCI/NMC
Experience Requirements
Full-Time Consultant
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a busy multispecialty hospital after MD/DNB
Senior Registrar
- Minimum 1 year post-PG clinical experience in a multispecialty hospital
Junior Registrar
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience after internship, in a multispecialty hospital
Age Limit (as on 15 December 2025)
- Consultant / Senior Registrar: Maximum 50 years
- Junior Registrar: Maximum 40 years
Age relaxation may be granted for candidates with significant experience in government or reputed organizations.
Pay Scale (Monthly Consolidated)
These are full-time contractual, non-practicing positions, offering fixed monthly pay:
- Consultant: ₹1,70,000 – ₹2,50,000
- Senior Registrar: ₹1,50,000 – ₹2,00,000
- Junior Registrar: ₹1,20,000 – ₹1,50,000
The final compensation will depend on:
- qualifications,
- relevant hospital experience, and
- recommendation of the Selection Committee.
Job Responsibilities
For Consultant / Senior Registrar
- Perform OPD/IPD duties as assigned.
- Follow a weekly duty roster of 48 hours.
- Support clinical work, emergency duties, and academic activities.
- Participate in research or hospital development work if required.
- Work anywhere within the IIT Kharagpur campus or in outreach programs.
For Junior Registrar
- Work in rotating shifts across different departments.
- Provide patient care according to hospital needs.
- Undertake duties assigned by the administration.
- Participate in outreach services when needed.
