The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), a Fortune Global 500 company and one of the largest commercial undertakings in India, has officially released a notification on 16th August 2025 inviting applications for the engagement of Technician, Graduate, and Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973/1992 (as amended from time to time). This recruitment drive is part of IOCL’s Skill Building Initiative, aimed at nurturing young talent and enhancing employability skills across various states and union territories in the Western Region, covering Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

The IOCL Western Region has released apprentice vacancies across different states for various disciplines. These include Technician Apprentices (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical & Electronics), Graduate Apprentices (BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA), and Trade Apprentices (Fitter, Electrician, Machinist, Data Entry Operator).

1. Maharashtra

  • Technician Apprentice (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Electronics, Electrical & Electronics) – 40 posts
  • Trade Apprentice (Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist) – 10 posts
  • Graduate Apprentice – 120 posts
  • Data Entry Operator (Freshers & Skilled Certificate Holders) – 9 vacancies

2. Gujarat

  • Technician Apprentice – 20 posts
  • Trade Apprentice (various trades) – 10 posts
  • Graduate Apprentice – 35 posts
  • Data Entry Operator – 4 posts

3. Madhya Pradesh

  • Technician Apprentice – 20 posts

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must have the following qualifications as per discipline code:

  1. Trade Apprentice (Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrumentation Mechanic, Machinist):
    • Matriculation with a full-time 2-year ITI course in the respective trade recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
  2. Technician Apprentice (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical & Electronics):
    • 3-year full-time Diploma in the respective engineering discipline.
    • Minimum marks: 50% for General/EWS/OBC-NCL, 45% for SC/ST/PwBD.
  3. Graduate Apprentice (BA, B.Com, B.Sc, BBA):
    • Full-time Graduation in any discipline with minimum marks as above.
  4. Data Entry Operator (Fresher & Skill Certificate Holders):
    • Class 12th pass (but below graduate).
    • For Skill Certificate Holders: Must have a Domestic Data Entry Operator Skill Certificate issued by a recognized authority.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 24 years (as on 31.07.2025)
  • Relaxations:
    • SC/ST: +5 years (up to 29 years)
    • OBC-NCL: +3 years (up to 27 years)
    • PwBD: Age relaxation of 10 years (extendable to 15 years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC-NCL).

Selection Process

The selection will be based on merit list prepared from the marks obtained in the prescribed qualification. There will be no written test or interview unless otherwise required.

  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for Document Verification.
  • Final selection is subject to verification of original certificates and fulfilling all eligibility criteria.

Stipend / Salary Details

Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973/1992 and Government guidelines.

Estimated Stipend:

  • Technician Apprentices: ₹8,000 – ₹10,000 per month
  • Graduate Apprentices: ₹9,000 – ₹10,500 per month
  • Trade Apprentices: ₹7,000 – ₹9,000 per month

The stipend will vary depending on the discipline and location. Apprentices are not entitled to allowances or benefits applicable to permanent employees of IOCL.

Key Instructions for Applicants

  1. Candidates must have:
    • PAN Card
    • Aadhaar Card
    • Bank Account with Cheque Book
    • Scanned copies of educational certificates
  2. All communication will be through email and SMS. Ensure your email ID and mobile number are active for at least one year.
  3. The date for determining eligibility (age & qualification) is 31st July 2025.
  4. Applicants must apply through NATS/NAPS Portal. Applications submitted by any other mode will not be accepted.
  5. Suppression of information or false declaration will lead to cancellation of candidature and legal action.

  1. Visit the NATS portal (for Graduate/Technician Apprentices) or the NAPS portal (for Trade Apprentices).
  2. Complete your registration (if not already registered).
  3. Login using your credentials and select Indian Oil Corporation Limited – Western Region.
  4. Complete the application form with correct and precise information.
  5. Upload scanned documents as per requirements.
  6. Submit the form and keep a hard copy for later reference.

Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email/SMS regarding document verification. At the time of verification, candidates must bring:

  • Original and self-attested copies of:
    • 10th/12th Marksheet & Certificate
    • ITI/Diploma/Degree Certificate
    • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
    • Disability Certificate (if applicable)
    • PAN, Aadhaar, and Bank details

Failure to produce required documents will lead to cancellation of candidature.
