The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released a fresh recruitment advertisement inviting applications for the post of Drivers under various departments of the Union Territory. A total of 107 vacancies have been announced across Agriculture Production Department, Public Works (R&B) Department, and Transport Department. This recruitment provides an excellent opportunity for candidates with the required eligibility to secure a government job in Jammu & Kashmir. The selection will be conducted under the rules of the UT government, ensuring transparency, fairness, and equal opportunity for all eligible aspirants.

Vacancy Details
A total of 107 posts of Drivers have been advertised. The vacancies are distributed across different departments as follows:
- Agriculture Production Department – 18 posts
- Public Works (R&B) Department – 27 posts
- Transport Department – 62 posts
- Total Vacancies – 107 posts
Note: The number of vacancies may increase or decrease depending on the requirement of the departments before the completion of the selection process.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Domicile
- Candidates must be domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
- A valid domicile certificate issued by the competent authority must be available on or before the last date of application (11 November 2025).
2. Age Limit (as on 01 January 2025)
The maximum age limits for different categories are as follows:
- Open Merit (OM): 40 years (Born between 01.01.1985 and 01.01.2007)
- SC / ST / RBA / ALC-IB / OBC / EWS: 43 years (Born between 01.01.1982 and 01.01.2007)
- Government Service / Contractual Employment: 40 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 48 years (Born between 01.01.1977 and 01.01.2007)
3. Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess the required educational qualifications and valid driving license as prescribed by the indenting departments.
- All certificates and qualifications must be valid on or before the cut-off date (11 November 2025).
- Candidates with equivalent qualifications must produce an equivalence certificate from the competent authority.
4. Other Conditions
- Candidates having qualifications other than prescribed are not eligible.
- Reservation benefits are applicable only upon production of valid certificates.
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are not eligible for these posts.
Application Fee
- General (Open Merit) and other categories: Rs. 600/-
- SC, ST, EWS candidates: Rs. 500/-
- Fee is payable through online mode only (Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card).
- Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be made through the following stages:
- Written Examination (OMR-based / Computer-based):
- Objective-type multiple-choice questions.
- The paper will be in English language only.
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
- Document Verification:
- Shortlisted candidates from the exam will have to appear for document verification.
- Candidates must carry original as well as self-attested copies of all required documents (educational certificates, domicile, category certificate, driving license, etc.).
- Failure to produce valid documents will result in disqualification.
- Final Selection:
- Based on merit in the written examination and fulfillment of eligibility criteria.
- Reservation policies as per J&K government rules will be applied.
Salary Scale
- Selected candidates will be appointed as Drivers in the respective departments.
- Salary and service conditions will be governed by the rules and pay scales of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir.
- The posts carry pay up to Level-6E (Rs. 35,900 – Rs. 1,13,500) depending on department and cadre allocation.
Reservation Rules
- Reservation will be applicable as per the Jammu & Kashmir Reservation Act and Rules.
- Candidates must ensure they possess valid category certificates (RBA, SC, ST, OBC, ALC/IB, EWS, Ex-Servicemen, etc.) issued before the cut-off date.
- Horizontal reservation for Ex-Servicemen is applicable.
- Candidates using false/fake certificates will face cancellation of candidature, debarment, and possible legal action.

- Register yourself using a valid mobile number and email ID.
- Fill in all required details such as personal information, educational qualifications, and category details.
- Upload scanned documents including photograph, signature, domicile certificate, and category certificate (if applicable).
- Pay the application fee through online mode.
- Submit the form and take a printout of the application form for future reference.

Important Instructions for Candidates
- Candidates must apply well before the last date to avoid technical issues.
- Names, Date of Birth, Father’s and Mother’s names must be entered exactly as per matriculation certificate.
- Only one application per candidate per post is allowed. Multiple applications will lead to rejection.
- Admit cards will not be sent by post. Candidates must download them from the official website.
- Carry two recent passport-size photographs and valid ID proof to the exam centre.
- Applications with blurred photographs or signatures will be rejected.
- Misconduct, malpractice, or misrepresentation at any stage will lead to debarment and legal action.
