Category-Wise Reservation

Reservations are applicable as per Government of Gujarat norms for SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, PwD, and Women candidates.

• The reservation is only applicable to candidates of Gujarat origin.
• In case of non-availability of women candidates, the reserved posts may be filled by male candidates of the same category.
• PwD reservation is allotted as per GAD Resolutions dated 17/09/2021 and 20/11/2024.

Salary / Pay Scale

Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC and CPS (Contributory Pension Scheme) applies. Employees from erstwhile Gujarat Agricultural University will be eligible for pay protection and service continuation.

Educational Qualification & Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for all teaching positions shall be as per UGC / ICAR regulations and Government of Gujarat norms.

1. Professor & Its Equivalent

• Ph.D. degree in the concerned / relevant discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of teaching / research / extension experience.
• Evidence of published work with at least 10 research publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Minimum API score as per ICAR/UGC regulations.
• Experience in guiding Ph.D. students.

2. Associate Professor & Its Equivalent

• Good academic record with a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.
• A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in teaching / research / extension.
• Minimum API score requirement as per university norms.

3. Assistant Professor & Its Equivalent

• Master’s degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
• NET / SLET / SET qualification is mandatory (except for disciplines where it is not conducted).
• Ph.D. candidates are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
• Relaxation of 5% marks for SC / ST / PwD candidates as per rules.

Age Limit (as per Government Rules)

Age relaxation is applicable according to Government of Gujarat regulations.

Selection Process

The selection will be based on the following criteria:

1. Academic Performance Index (API) Score
   • Minimum API score as per ICAR/UGC norms.
   • Based on Teaching, Research, Extension, and Technical activities (Categories I, II, and III).
   • Minimum average API: 100 per year for eligibility.
2. Interview / Expert Assessment
   • Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
   • Weightage:
     • Category I & II (Teaching, Extension, Co-curricular) – 30%
     • Category III (Research & Publications) – 50%
     • Interview Performance – 20%
3. Document Verification
   • All original documents, experience certificates, and publications will be verified before final selection.
