Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (as on May 1, 2025):

• Generalist Officers: A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).
• Specialist Officers: Specific educational qualifications are required based on the discipline:
  • Doctors (MBBS): MBBS/MD/MS or PG – Medical Degree from a recognized University with valid NMC/State registration.
  • Legal: Graduate/Postgraduate in Law with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).
  • Finance: Chartered Accountant (ICAI) / Cost Accountant (ICWA) OR B.Com / M.Com with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).
  • Information Technology (IT): B.E. / B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech. in Computer Science / Information Technology OR MCA with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).
  • Automobile Engineers: B.E. / B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech. in Automobile Engineering with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).

2. Age Limit (as on May 1, 2025):

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 30 years
• Age Relaxation: Permissible for reserved categories as per Government of India rules:
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 5 years

Selection Process

The selection process for NICL AO posts involves three stages:

1. Phase-I: Preliminary Exam (Online)

• Duration: 60 minutes
• Key Point: 0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer.

2. Phase-II: Mains Exam (Online)

• Objective Test (250 marks):
  • Generalists: 5 sections (Reasoning, English, GA, Computer Knowledge, Quant) – 50 questions each.
  • Specialists: 6 sections (includes technical knowledge test).
• Descriptive Test (30 marks): English essay, précis, and comprehension.

3. Interview

Candidates clearing Mains face a final interview assessing communication skills, technical knowledge (for specialists), and leadership potential. The final merit list combines Mains (85%) and Interview (15%) scores
