The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal, one of India’s premier institutions under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has released an official notification for Faculty Recruitment 2025. Eligible and motivated Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are invited to apply online for 45 faculty positions across various departments. The posts include Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor Grade-I, and Assistant Professor Grade-II levels.

Departments with vacancies include Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mathematics, Management Studies, Humanities & Social Sciences, Computational Data Science, and others.

No vacancies are available in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Chemistry, and Physics, except for internal faculty movement.

Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government of India rules. In exceptional cases with significant research or academic achievements, the maximum age limit can be relaxed up to 60 years.

Educational Qualification & Eligibility

  • Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.
  • First Class is mandatory in preceding degrees (UG and PG).
  • Candidates who have earned a Ph.D. directly after B.E./B.Tech with a First Class at the undergraduate level are also eligible.
  • For NIT Warangal Ph.D. holders, a minimum of 3 years post-Ph.D. experience is required to apply (except current faculty).
  • Eligibility, experience, and credit points will be as per Schedule ‘E’ of NIT Statutes (Amendment 2017 & 2023) and guidelines of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Pay Scale, Benefits, and Incentives

Selected candidates will receive attractive pay levels as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) along with several benefits.

Pay Scale:

  • Professor: Level 14A – ₹1,59,100 to ₹2,20,200 per month
  • Associate Professor: Level 13A2 – ₹1,39,600 to ₹2,11,300 per month
  • Assistant Professor Grade-I: Level 12 – ₹1,01,500 to ₹1,67,400 per month
  • Assistant Professor Grade-II: Level 10 – ₹57,700 to ₹98,200 per month

Allowances:
Dearness Allowance, Transport Allowance, and House Rent Allowance (if quarters unavailable).

  • Leave Travel Concession (LTC)

Candidates who applied in the previous recruitment (Ref: F. No. NITW/FR/2024 dated 22.12.2024) for the same post and category need not pay the application fee again.

Selection Process

The selection process will include the following stages:

  1. Scrutiny and Shortlisting of applications based on eligibility and academic credit points.
  2. Written Test or Higher Criteria Evaluation (if required).
  3. Teaching & Research Seminar/Presentation.
  4. Personal Interview before the Selection Committee.

Final selection will be made based on merit, research output, and overall academic credentials.
