For the year 2025, NRL has announced recruitment for Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs) across multiple disciplines and Assistant Officer Trainees (AOTs). Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, candidates must check the detailed eligibility criteria including educational qualification and age limit.
1. Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a First-Class Degree with at least 65% marks in aggregate from a recognized University/Institute approved by AICTE/UGC.
- GET – Civil Engineering: First-class Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- GET – Mechanical Engineering: First-class Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- GET – Instrumentation Engineering: First-class Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or combination with related fields.
- GET – Electrical Engineering: First-class Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant combination.
- GET – Metallurgy: First-class Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy/Metallurgical & Materials Engineering.
- GET – Chemical Engineering: First-class Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- GET – Computer Science: First-class Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Engineering.
- Assistant Officer Trainee (AOT): First-class Postgraduate with NET/GATE qualification from a recognized University/Institute.
2. Age Limit
- Maximum Age: 30 years as on 10th October 2025.
- Relaxations:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (NCL): 3 years
- PwBD (UR): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC-NCL): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen, Jammu & Kashmir domiciled candidates (1980–1989), and other categories as per Government norms also receive relaxation.
3. Experience
- No prior work experience is required. Freshers are eligible.
Salary Scale & Training
NRL offers one of the most attractive pay scales in the PSU sector, along with additional perks and allowances.
1. During Training
- Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs): ₹50,000 per month (stipend)
- Assistant Officer Trainees (AOTs): ₹40,000 per month (stipend)
2. After Successful Completion of Training
- GETs (E-2 Grade): ₹50,000 – ₹1,60,000 with an annual CTC of approx. ₹18.79 Lakh
- AOTs (E-1 Grade): ₹40,000 – ₹1,40,000 with an annual CTC of approx. ₹15.34 Lakh
Apart from basic pay, candidates will also be entitled to IDA, Perks, Allowances, Performance Related Pay (PRP), and other benefits as per company rules.
Selection Process
The selection will be conducted in multiple stages.
1. Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- For GETs:
- Section A: Subject Knowledge (80% weightage)
- Section B: General Knowledge/Current Affairs
- Section C: English Language
- Section D: Reasoning & Numerical Ability
- For AOTs:
- Section A: General Knowledge + Indian & World Energy Scenario (60% weightage)
- Section B: Reasoning & Numerical Ability
- Section C: English Language
No negative marking will be applied in the CBT.
2. Personal Interview
- Candidates shortlisted from CBT will be called for Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:5.
- Minimum qualifying marks: 50% in both CBT and Interview separately.
3. Final Selection
- Based on 85% weightage from CBT and 15% weightage from Interview.
- Candidates must also clear Pre-Employment Medical Examination to confirm selection.
Surety Bond
Selected candidates must sign a Surety Bond of ₹3,00,000 to serve the company for a minimum period of 3 years after completion of training. This ensures stability and commitment to the organization.
Placement
Selected candidates can be posted at any of the following:
- NRL Refinery at Numaligarh (Assam)
- Marketing Terminals (Assam/West Bengal)
- Subsidiaries, Joint Ventures, or Holding Company (Oil India Limited)
- Government Departments, Statutory Bodies, or other PSUs as per company’s requirement.
