Total Vacancies – 2623 Apprentice Posts

The apprenticeship seats are distributed across ONGC’s operational centres under six major sectors – Northern, Western, Eastern, Southern, Central, and Mumbai Sectors. The trades are available under NAPS (National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme) and NATS (National Apprenticeship Training Scheme), based on qualification type.

Northern Sector

Mumbai Sector

Mumbai, Uran, Nhava, Goa, Panvel, and Hazira – 569 vacancies in various ITI and graduate/diploma trades.

Western Sector

Ankleshwar, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Cambay, and Mehsana – 856 positions across engineering, mechanical, chemical, and administrative trades.

Eastern Sector

Nazira, Sivasagar, Jorhat, and Silchar – 458 vacancies in technical and executive trades.

Southern Sector

Chennai, Kakinada, Rajahmundry, and Karaikal – 322 posts in diverse engineering and administrative trades.

Central Sector

Agartala, Bokaro, and Kolkata – 253 apprentice positions across various trades.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

The qualification requirements vary by trade/discipline and are categorized under NAPS (ITI/10+2) and NATS (Diploma/Graduate) schemes:

Some examples include:

• Fitter / Electrician / Mechanic Diesel: ITI in relevant trade
• Civil Executive (Graduate): BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering
• Accounts Executive: B.Com
• Executive HR (Oil & Gas): BBA
• Fire Safety Technician: ITI in Fire Safety Trade
• Lab Chemist: B.Sc. (Chemistry)

Qualifications acquired through distance learning are acceptable if recognized by statutory bodies.

2. Age Limit (as on 06 November 2025)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 24 years
  (Candidates born between 06.11.2001 and 06.11.2007 are eligible)

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
• PwBD: Up to 10 years (15 years for SC/ST PwBD, 13 years for OBC PwBD)

3. Domicile Criteria

Candidates are eligible to apply only if they are residents (domiciles) of or have obtained their qualifying education from the districts associated with the particular ONGC work centre.

Stipend Details

During the apprenticeship training, selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend as per the Apprentices Act, 1961:

The training duration for all trades is 12 months. No additional allowances such as HRA or DA will be provided.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates for ONGC Apprenticeship 2025 will be based purely on merit:

1. Merit List Preparation:
   Based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination (relevant educational qualification).
2. Document Verification:
   Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification at the respective ONGC work centres.
3. Final Selection:
   The final list of selected candidates will be published on the ONGC Apprentices website.

There will be no written test or interview for this recruitment. Selection is strictly merit-based.

A. For NAPS Trades (Sl. No. 1 to 29)

2. Register yourself as a candidate and complete your profile.

4. Submit your online application.

B. For NATS Trades (Sl. No. 30 to 39)

1. Go to the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal
2. Register under the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT).
3. Complete your application by choosing ONGC as the establishment.

Candidates are advised to apply for only one trade and one work centre. Applying for multiple trades or centres may lead to disqualification.
