Ordnance Factory Medak (OFMK), a unit of Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), has announced a recruitment drive for various technical positions on a fixed-term contract basis. AVNL, a newly established Defence Public Sector Undertaking headquartered in Avadi, Chennai, is a market leader in the manufacture of armoured and combat vehicles in India, providing specialized solutions for the Armed Forces.

OFMK, located in Yeddumailaram, Sangareddy, Hyderabad, specializes in manufacturing Infantry Combat Vehicles (ICVs) and BMP II variants, including Armoured Ambulance Tracked (AAT), Carrier Motor Tracked (CMT), Armoured Engineering Reconnaissance Vehicle (AERV), and Carrier Command Post Tracked (CCPT). Educational Qualifications & Experience

Diploma Technician (CNC Operator):

  • Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Tool & Die Making with NAC/NTC in Machinist.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in operating and programming CNC machines. Knowledge of G & M codes, CAD/CAM software, Siemens Fanuc system programming, and measurement calculations is desirable.

Junior Technician (Miller):

  • Qualification: NAC/NTC in Machinist/Turner/Grinder.
  • Experience: At least 1 year operating milling and turning machines. Knowledge of conventional machines and measurement calculations is preferable.

Junior Technician (Examiner Engineering):

  • Qualification: NAC/NTC in Fitter (Electronics).
  • Experience: 2 years relevant experience in the field. Must be able to understand drawings and specifications.

Junior Technician (Fitter General):

  • Experience: 2 years in the relevant field. Knowledge of drawings and specifications is required.

Note: Experience gained before obtaining the qualification will not be considered. Candidates must also provide a No Objection Certificate at the trade test stage and a relieving letter if currently employed.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years (as on the date of advertisement)
  • Relaxation:
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): +3 years
    • SC/ST: +5 years
    • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): +10 years
    • Ex-servicemen, ex-apprentices, and candidates with relevant experience may receive additional relaxations, as applicable.
  • Maximum Age Including All Relaxations: 55 years

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Diploma Technician (CNC Operator): ₹23,000/month
  • Junior Technician (All Positions): ₹21,000/month
  • Additional allowances include:
    • Dearness Allowance (IDA)
    • Special Allowance @ 58% of basic pay
    • Annual Increment @ 38% of basic pay
    • Other benefits: ₹3,000/month for medical/insurance, access to industrial canteen, PF & gratuity as per statutory norms, housing (subject to availability), and ex-gratia payment of ₹10 lakh in case of accidental death during employment.

Selection Process

  • Diploma Technician: Selection based on marks obtained in the Diploma from AICTE-approved institutes (100% weightage).
  • Junior Technician: Selection based on marks obtained in NTC/NAC issued by NCVT (100% weightage).
  • Ex-Trade Apprentices of AVNL are awarded 5 additional marks for their final examination results.
  • Candidates must have at least a first-class qualification (10% relaxation for SC/ST/PwBD).

  • Application Fee: ₹300 (non-refundable), payable via SBI Collect. SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Women are exempted.
