The Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology has released a fresh recruitment announcement inviting qualified candidates to apply for Assistant Professor and equivalent teaching positions across various disciplines in Agricultural Science, Agricultural Engineering & Technology, and Community Science. This recruitment has been issued after the cancellation of the previous advertisement, and all earlier applications stand invalid. The university now seeks competent applicants with strong academic backgrounds, research aptitude, and subject expertise to join its teaching and research establishments. Eligible candidates can apply by submitting the prescribed application form through offline mode. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree
    • Minimum 2nd Class in the concerned subject
    • At least 55% marks or equivalent OGPA
  2. Master’s Degree
    • Minimum 2nd Class in the concerned subject
    • At least 55% marks or equivalent OGPA
  3. NET Qualification
    • Must have cleared NET conducted by UGC/ICAR/CSIR or equivalent
    • Must have at least one publication in a NAAS-rated journal
  4. Ph.D. Exemption Criteria (as per UGC 2009 regulations)
    Candidates with Ph.D. in the concerned subject (with coursework) are exempted from NET, provided:
    • Ph.D. awarded in regular mode
    • Evaluation by at least two external examiners
    • Open viva-voce conducted
    • Two research papers published from Ph.D. work
    • Two conference/seminar presentations
  5. Relaxation
    • 5% relaxation in marks for SC, ST, and PwD candidates
  6. NET Awaiting Candidates
    • May apply but must submit NET certificate on the interview date.

Age Limit

  • Maximum Age: 42 years
  • Relaxation: As per government rules
  • OUAT employees: No upper age limit

Salary Scale

  • Level 10 (Cell 1)
  • ₹57,700 per month
  • Plus usual DA and other allowances as per rules.
  • Retirement age: 60 years

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on the following weightage:

  1. Academic Record – 40%
  2. Written Test – 30%
  3. Research Publications – 10%
    • NAAS 4–6 → 2 Marks
    • NAAS >6–8 → 6 Marks
    • NAAS >8 → 10 Marks
  4. Viva-Voce – 20%

Shortlisting Criteria

  • Candidates will be shortlisted in a ratio of 1:4 based on the first 80 marks (Academic + Written + Publication).
  • Final ranking will be determined after adding interview scores.
  1. Download and print the prescribed application form.

  3. Attach self-attested copies of:
    • Academic certificates and mark sheets
    • Category certificate (if applicable)
    • Research publications
    • Experience certificates (if any)
    • Payment receipt
    • Passport-size photographs
  4. For candidates already in service:
    • Apply through proper channel
    • Send advance copy before the last date
    • Produce NOC during document verification or written test
  5. Send the completed application form along with all documents by Speed Post or Registered Post before the final date.
  6. Superscribe the envelope with:
    “Application for the Post of _________”

Incomplete applications or applications received after the deadline will be rejected.
