The Post-Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Castes Students is a welfare scheme launched by the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, and implemented by the Director of Scheduled Caste Welfare, Government of Gujarat. The scheme provides financial assistance to SC students studying beyond the matriculation level to help them continue their education without financial hardship. It aims to improve enrolment and retention rates in higher education among Scheduled Caste students and promote equality and social inclusion.

Note:
- 10% extra allowance for Divyang students.
- Students pursuing C.A., I.C.W.A., C.S., or I.C.F.A. are treated as day scholars.
- Students enrolled in correspondence or online courses are eligible only for non-refundable fees.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must belong to the Scheduled Caste category of Gujarat.
- Must have passed Matriculation or Higher Secondary or any higher exam.
- Annual family income must not exceed ₹2,50,000.
- Must be pursuing education in recognized institutions beyond Class 10.
- Students cannot receive two scholarships simultaneously.
- Must maintain minimum 75% attendance every academic year.
- Distance learning students are eligible for non-refundable fee reimbursement only.
- Students admitted under management or NRI quotas are not eligible.
Reservation Policy
The entire scheme is exclusively reserved for Scheduled Caste students in Gujarat to ensure equitable access to education and to support students from historically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Distribution of Scholarships
The scholarship is distributed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) directly into the student’s bank account. Verification is done through the Aadhaar-based attendance system and institutional records. Scholarships are renewed each year upon satisfactory academic progress and required attendance.
Application Process (Step-by-Step)
Step 1: Visit the Digital Gujarat Portal.
Step 2: Click Register, enter details (mobile, email, password), and save.
Step 3: Log in with your registered credentials.
Step 4: Update your profile with all required details and verify via OTP.
Step 5: Select Scholarship Services → SC Scheme.
Step 6: Choose the financial year 2025–26.
Step 7: Select Post-Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Castes Students and click Continue to Service.
Step 8: Fill in all personal, educational, and bank details carefully.
Step 9: Upload the required documents (Aadhaar, caste certificate, marksheets, income proof, bank passbook, etc.).
Step 10: Click Save as Draft, verify information, and then Confirm & Final Submit.
Important:
- Only one application per student is accepted.
- Photo upload and clear scanned documents are mandatory.
- Once submitted, the institution cannot be changed.
