Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet the following criteria as of the closing date.
1. Educational Qualification
- For ALL Posts (Sewadar, Chowkidar, Sweeper, Fisherman, etc.):
The candidate must have passed the Matriculation (10th) examination with Punjabi as one of the subjects from a recognized educational institution.This is mandatory as per the Punjab Civil Services Rules, which require knowledge of the Punjabi language for any direct appointment to a state government post.
2. Age Limit (as on January 1, 2025)
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age for General Category: 37 years
Age Relaxation is applicable for:
- Scheduled Caste (SC) & Backward Class (BC) candidates: Up to 42 years.
- Punjab Government Employees: Up to 45 years.
- Ex-Servicemen (ESM): As per the Punjab Recruitment of Ex-Servicemen Rules, 1982. The period of military service is deducted from their actual age.
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Up to 47 years.
- Widows, Divorcees, and certain other categories of married women: Up to 40 years.
Salary Scale (Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC)
All posts advertised in this recruitment are in Pay Level-1 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will be entitled to other allowances and benefits as per the rules of the Punjab Government.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be based on a single, transparent, and merit-based process.
- Written Examination: The primary stage of selection will be an Objective Type (Multiple Choice Questions) written test.
- Merit List: A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written examination.
- Document Verification (Counselling): Candidates shortlisted in the merit list will be called for document verification (often referred to as counselling). During this stage, they must produce all original certificates related to their educational qualification, age, category, residence, etc., for verification.
- Final Recommendation: Candidates who successfully clear the document verification will be recommended to the respective departments for appointment, subject to the number of vacancies available at that time.
Tie-Breaking Rule: If two or more candidates score the same marks, the older candidate will be ranked higher. If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate with higher marks in the Matriculation (10th) examination will be preferred.

Important Instructions and General Conditions
- Domicile Certificate: Candidates claiming reservation must be domiciles of Punjab and will be required to produce a valid Domicile/Residence Certificate during document verification. The certificate should not be more than 5 years old at the time of counselling.
- Category Certificates: Candidates applying under reserved categories (SC, BC, EWS, ESM, PwBD, Sports, etc.) must possess the valid certificate in the prescribed format from the competent authority.
- Website is Key: All updates regarding the examination date, admit card, result, merit list, and counselling will be published only on the official SSSB website. No individual communication will be sent. Candidates are responsible for regularly checking the website.
- Multiple Applications: If a candidate is eligible and wishes to apply for more than one post, they must submit separate online applications and pay the fee for each post.
