The recruitment is open through Open Advertisement, and only candidates who meet the specified sports and educational qualifications will be considered.

3. Age Limit & Educational/Technical Qualification
A. Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 25 years
- As on: 1st July 2026
Note: No age relaxation (upper or lower) is permissible for recruitment through Open Advertisement.
B. Educational / Technical Qualification
Level 1 (G.P. Rs. 1800)
- Qualification Required: 10th Pass OR ITI OR equivalent OR NAC (National Apprenticeship Certificate) granted by NCVT.
- Training Period: 2 years, unless the candidate has already passed ITI in the relevant trade, in which case the training period will be 6 months.
Level 2 (G.P. Rs. 1900 – Technician-III)
- Qualification Required: 10th Pass OR 10th Pass + Act Apprenticeship/ITI Certificate granted by NCVT in relevant trades.
- Training Period: Same as Level 1, based on ITI qualification.
Important Notes:
- Only Act Apprenticeship/ITI in any trade will be considered; Diploma or higher qualifications will not be accepted in lieu of ITI.
- No relaxation in minimum educational qualification is allowed.
4. Eligibility Criteria – Minimum Sports Norms
Recruitment through Sports Quota requires candidates to meet specific sports achievements, recognized by the Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB). Achievements should be within the current and immediate preceding 2 years (from 1st April 2023) and candidates must be active players.
Level 1 (G.P. Rs. 1800)
Candidates must fulfill at least one of the following criteria:
- Represented in Commonwealth Championship (Junior/Senior) OR Asian Championship / Asia Cup (Junior/Senior) OR South Asian Federation Games (Senior) OR USIC (World Railways) Championship (Senior) OR World University Games.
- Secured at least 3rd position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior category).
- Represented a State or equivalent with at least 8th position in Senior National Championships.
Level 2 (G.P. Rs. 1900 – Technician-III)
Candidates must fulfill at least one of the following criteria:
- Represented India in World Cup, World Championships, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Youth Olympics, or Champions Trophy (Hockey) OR Thomas/Uber Cup (Badminton).
- Secured at least 3rd position in Commonwealth Championship, Asian Championship, Asia Cup, South Asian Federation Games, USIC Championship, or World University Games.
- Secured at least 3rd position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships.
- Secured at least 3rd position in National Games organized under Indian Olympic Association.
- Secured at least 3rd position in All India Inter University Championship.
- Secured 1st position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior category).
Note: Only championships conducted under recognized International/National/State Sports Federations and recognized by RSPB are valid.

Fee Exemption
- Minorities: Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Zoroastrian (Parsis) may claim exemption by submitting a self-declaration in the prescribed format.
- Economically Backward Classes (EBC): Family income below ₹50,000 per annum. Income certificate must be issued by recognized authorities such as District Magistrate, Tehsildar, MPs, or recognized poverty alleviation programs.
