Eligibility Criteria
1. Age Limit
- Group B Posts (Non-Teaching): Maximum age limit up to 30 years (33 years for Senior Assistant, C Group).
- Group C Posts: Maximum age limit 27 years for Junior Assistant, Technician, Lab Attendant.
Relaxation: Age relaxation as per Government of India and Ministry of Education rules, BoG resolutions, and reserved category guidelines. Ex-servicemen and differently-abled candidates may avail relaxation as applicable.
2. Educational Qualifications
The minimum educational and professional qualifications for each post are in accordance with the Recruitment Rules for NITs, 2019, as updated by the Ministry of Education:
- Junior Engineer (Electrical): Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Institute/University.
- Technical Assistant: Degree/Diploma/PG qualifications relevant to the respective discipline. For example, Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Superintendent / Senior Assistant / Junior Assistant: Graduate degree in any discipline with computer knowledge and administrative experience preferred.
- Technician: Diploma/Certificate in the respective trade (ECE, Physics) with prior hands-on laboratory experience.
- Lab Attendant: High school (10th standard/SSLC) qualification with practical experience in laboratory or maintenance work.
Essential Skills: Candidates must demonstrate a clear understanding of their field, competency in basic tools and techniques relevant to their post, and the ability to work in a disciplined academic environment.
Experience Requirements
- Relevant work experience in educational institutions, laboratories, administrative offices, or technical departments will be preferred.
- Experience certificate must be issued by the previous employer on official letterhead, including specific details of tenure, designation, and responsibilities.
- Candidates with less than six months experience in any organization will not be considered.
Selection Process
NIT Manipur follows a transparent and merit-based selection procedure, including a combination of written tests, skill tests, trade tests, and interviews, depending on the post applied for:
- Group B (Ministerial/Technical Posts): Written Test + Skill/Trade Test
- Group C (Ministerial/Technical Posts): Written Test + Skill/Trade Test
Screening: In case of a large number of applications, the Institute may conduct a screening test or apply shortlisting criteria to limit the number of candidates eligible for the final selection process.
