SJVN Limited, a ‘Navratna’ Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, is strengthening its operational teams. Originally established in 1988 by the Governments of India and Himachal Pradesh, the company has built a strong reputation and a robust network of power plants across India and Nepal. It is now inviting eligible Himachal Pradesh domiciles to apply for Workman Trainee positions in various disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Domicile: Only campaigners belonging to Himachal Pradesh are eligible.
  • Educational Qualification: As per discipline (Graduation/ITI/Class VIII depending on the post).
  • Minimum Marks:
    • 55% and above for UR/OBC/EWS
    • 50% and above for SC/ST/PwBD
  • Age Limit: Maximum 30 years as on the closing date (13.10.2025).
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC (NCL): 3 years
    • Candidates from the PwBD category with an EWS background received 10 times the number of vacancies, while OBC and SC/ST PwBD candidates received 13 and 15 times the vacancies, respectively.
    • Ex-Servicemen, J&K candidates, and Project Affected Families: as per rules (up to 45 years max).

Pay Scale and Benefits

  • Stipend during Training: ₹21,500 per month with 3% annual increment.
  • Other Benefits: IDA, allowances (35% of basic pay under cafeteria approach), HRA, provident fund, medical facilities for self & dependents, leave encashment, and performance-related pay as per company rules.
  • Regularisation: After successful completion of one-year training, trainees will be absorbed as Workmen in the same pay scale with career growth opportunities.

Selection Process

  • Relevant Trades: Electrician / Fitter / Turner / Welder / Storekeeper / Surveyor
    • Computer Based Test (CBT) only.
  • For Assistant (Accounts) / Assistant / Driver:
    • Computer Grounded Test (CBT) Trade Test (qualifying in nature).
  • Exam Pattern (CBT):
    • Duration: 2 hours
    • Questions: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
    • Section I: 80 questions (discipline-related)
    • Section II: 20 questions (reasoning, aptitude, English, general awareness)
    • Marking: 1 mark per correct answer, no negative marking
  • Qualifying Marks:
    • UR/EWS/Others: 50%
    • SC/ST/OBC/PwBD: 40%
  • Final Merit List: Based on CBT marks (and Trade Test qualifying for applicable posts).

  3. Fill in personal and educational details correctly.
  4. Upload scanned passport-size photo and signature (JPEG format, <500 KB).
  5. Pay application fee online (if applicable) through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI.
  6. Submit the operation and take a printout for reference.
