Eligibility Criteria
A. Service Background
- Officers from Central Government departments with relevant technical or aviation experience.
- Officers in the direct line of promotion in their parent department are not eligible for deputation.
- Officers already serving in ex-cadre posts must ensure cumulative deputation (including short-term contracts) does not exceed four years.
B. Age Limit
- Maximum age limit for deputation: 56 years on the closing date of application.
C. Professional Competence
- Knowledge and experience in aircraft maintenance, licensing, inspection, regulatory compliance, and civil aviation operations.
- Ability to supervise examinations, conduct inspections, and ensure adherence to DGCA directives.
D. Integrity and Service Record
- Officers must have a clean service record, with no disciplinary or vigilance cases pending.
- Submission of Annual Performance Appraisal Reports (APARs) for the last five years is mandatory.
- Self-attested integrity certificate and a statement of any major/minor penalties during the past ten years must be provided.
Salary Scale
The Level-11 pay matrix under the 7th Central Pay Commission corresponds to a basic pay range of ₹67,700 to ₹2,08,700 per month.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Review of Certificates: Evaluate applications for certificate of registration, airworthiness certificates, permits to fly, and amendments/renewals.
- Aircraft Inspection: Issue, renew, validate, or cancel certificates of airworthiness and permits to fly; oversee execution of relevant documents.
- Licensing Oversight: Review applications from aircraft maintenance personnel; grant authorizations, approvals, and competency certificates.
- Examination Supervision: Supervise aircraft maintenance licensing and other regulatory examinations.
- Maintenance Oversight: Review airworthiness conditions and maintenance records to ensure proper standards and personnel competence.
- Investigation of Defects: Investigate major defects in aircraft and recommend corrective actions.
- International Compliance: Review service bulletins and airworthiness directives from foreign aviation authorities; implement applicable directives in India.
- Surveillance of Approved Organizations: Monitor organizations for airworthiness compliance and carriage of dangerous goods.
- Regulatory Framework: Assist in framing and amending airworthiness regulations.
- Investigation of Violations: Identify violations of national air law or regulations and suggest corrective actions.
Application Process
- Forwarding of Bio-Data: Eligible officers must submit their bio-data in the prescribed proforma, forwarded through their cadre controlling authority.

- APARs for the last five years (attested by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary)
- Self-attested copies of educational qualifications and experience
- Integrity certificate and statement of penalties in the last ten years
- Three sets of the completed bio-data
- Certification by Cadre Authority: The forwarding authority must certify that all information is correct and no disciplinary or vigilance cases are pending.
- Submission Deadline: Applications must reach within 60 days of the advertisement date. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Terms of Deputation
- Tenure: Maximum of four years, including any previous ex-cadre or short-term contract deputation
- Eligibility During Deputation: Officers on deputation are not eligible for promotion in their parent department during the tenure
- Posting: Selected officers will serve under DGCA, New Delhi, primarily in the Airworthiness Directorate
