Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility conditions before applying. The eligibility requirements vary depending on the post.
1. Age Limit (as on 01 July 2025):
- SC/SCA/ST: Maximum 37 years
- MBC/BC/BC(M): Maximum 34 years
- OC (General): Maximum 32 years
Age relaxations will be provided as per Tamil Nadu Government rules.
2. Educational Qualification:
- Seasonal Bill Clerk – Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Agriculture, or Engineering.
- Seasonal Helper – Must have passed 12th Standard (HSC).
- Seasonal Watchman – Must have passed 8th Standard.
3. Domicile Requirement:
- Only candidates belonging to Chengalpattu district are eligible to apply.
4. Other Conditions:
- Candidate must be at least 18 years of age as on 01 July 2025.
- Applicant should be physically fit and able to perform the duties required for the respective posts.
Selection Process
The selection procedure is different for each category of post.
- Seasonal Bill Clerk & Seasonal Helper:
- Selection will be based on 50% weightage from academic marks and 50% from personal interview performance.
- Seasonal Watchman:
- Selection will be 100% based on performance in the personal interview.
This means academic marks play a key role in clerk/helper posts, while watchman posts depend solely on the candidate’s interview.
Salary / Pay Scale
The selected candidates will receive salary on the basis of Minimum Wages Act prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
- Seasonal Bill Clerk: ₹5,285/- + Dearness Allowance (₹5,087/-) + Travel Allowance
- Seasonal Helper: ₹5,218/- + Dearness Allowance (₹5,087/-) + Travel Allowance
- Seasonal Watchman: ₹5,218/- + Dearness Allowance (₹5,087/-) + Travel Allowance
Thus, on an average, selected candidates will earn approximately ₹10,000 to ₹11,000 per month including allowances.
Reservation of Vacancies
The vacancies will be filled according to the Tamil Nadu Government reservation policy. Separate slots are available for SC, SCA, ST, MBC, BC, BC(M), and OC categories.
