The Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), a premier cancer research and treatment organization under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for multiple nursing positions. TMC is a comprehensive cancer center dedicated to providing advanced patient care, pioneering cancer research, and high-quality training programs in oncology and allied disciplines. The Centre is affiliated with the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a Deemed University recognized for excellence in science, technology, and life/health sciences education.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have one of the following recognized qualifications from an accredited university:

  • General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) with Diploma in Oncology Nursing
  • B.Sc. Nursing (Basic or Post Basic)

All candidates must be eligible for registration with the Indian Nursing Council or respective State Nursing Council.

Experience Requirements

Nurse-C: Minimum 12 years’ clinical experience in a 100-bedded hospital. Experience before Post Basic B.Sc. is also considered. Preference for candidates with administrative experience, hospital administration courses, or oncology experience.

Nurse-B: Minimum 6 years’ clinical experience in a 100-bedded hospital. Experience before Post Basic B.Sc. is also considered. Preference for candidates with administrative experience, hospital administration courses, or oncology experience.

Nurse-A: Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a 50-bedded hospital. Preference given to candidates who have completed Diploma in Oncology Nursing at TMC and served the bond period.

Hepatitis B vaccination is mandatory for all candidates.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is calculated as of 27/10/2025:

Salary / Pay Scale

The salary for all nursing positions is as per 7th CPC pay matrix and includes allowances like DA, HRA, and TA:

Job Responsibilities

Selected nurses will be responsible for:

  • Delivering patient care in oncology wards and outpatient departments.
  • Assisting in diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of cancer patients.
  • Participating in clinical research and data documentation.
  • Supervising junior staff and trainees (if applicable).
  • Ensuring adherence to hospital protocols, infection control, and patient safety guidelines.
  • Contributing to administrative activities as needed for hospital management.

Rotation: Employees may be posted to any TMC unit across India, including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Varanasi, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, and other centers, based on organizational needs. Minimum service of 5 years is required at the initial posting before requesting transfers.

Selection Process

The selection for all nursing positions will include:

  1. Written Examination: 100 marks, MCQ or MCQ + Subjective, based on specialization.
  2. Skill Test: Qualifying in nature, assessing hands-on nursing competencies.

Note: TMC reserves the right to fix minimum eligibility standards, cutoff marks, and restrict the number of candidates called for the selection process.
