Eligibility Criteria

A. Educational Qualification:

  • Must have passed the SSLC (10th Standard) or its equivalent examination.
  • Mandatorily, Tamil must have been one of the subjects studied and examined.
  • The SSLC Mark Sheet must be submitted as proof. The 10th Standard Mark Statement (even if with a failure in a subject) is also required.
  • Must possess the ability to read and write in Tamil.

B. Residential Criteria:

  • The applicant must be a native of the specific Taluk for which they are applying. Applications will be rejected if the residential criterion is not met.

C. Character & Physical Fitness:

  • Candidates must have a clear antecedent record, satisfactory to the appointing authority.
  • Physical Fitness Certificate as per Fundamental Rule 10 is mandatory.

D. Age Limit (as of July 17, 2025):

  • Minimum Age: 21 Years (for all categories)
  • Maximum Age:
    • General Turn (GT/OC): 32 Years
    • Backward Classes (BC) / BC (Muslim) / Most Backward Classes & Denotified Communities (MBC & DNC): 39 Years
    • Scheduled Caste (SC) / SC (Arunthathiyar) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Destitute Widow: 42 Years

Age Relaxations:

  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Eligible for an additional 10 years of age relaxation over their category’s upper limit.

Pay Scale / Salary

  • The selected candidates will be appointed under a Special Time Scale of Pay.
  • The salary will range from ₹11,100 to ₹35,100 per month, along with other applicable allowances as per Tamil Nadu Government rules.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be a multi-tiered process designed to assess practical skills and suitability for the role. Shortlisted candidates will be required to clear the following stages:

  1. Literacy Proficiency Test: A test to evaluate the candidate’s ability to read and write in Tamil effectively.
  2. Mobility Skill Test: A practical test to demonstrate proficiency in riding a bicycle or a two-wheeler motor vehicle.
  3. Personal Interview: A final face-to-face assessment.

Note: Separate intimation will be sent for each stage of the selection process. No travel allowance (TA) will be provided for attending the interview.
