Vacancy Details
The recruitment offers 100 permanent vacancies for the post of Personal Assistant Grade-II. The category-wise distribution of vacancies is given below:
- Unreserved (UR): 42 posts (including 14 for women and 1 for ex-servicemen)
- Scheduled Caste (SC): 12 posts (including 4 for women)
- Scheduled Tribe (ST): 46 posts (including 16 for women and 1 for ex-servicemen)

Eligibility Criteria
Nationality & Residency
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- The candidate must have a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRTC) of Tripura.
Educational Qualification
- The applicant must have passed Higher Secondary (H.S. +2) or equivalent examination from a recognized board/university with at least 35% marks on average.
- Alternatively, candidates who passed the Madhyamik Examination with a Stenography Course from any ITI with at least 35% marks are also eligible.
- Candidate must possess computer operating knowledge with a certificate of at least 3 months duration from a government or government-recognized institution.
- Proficiency in English typing on computer with a minimum speed of 40 words per minute.
- Proficiency in shorthand writing/transcription with a minimum speed of 100 words per minute.
- The candidate must be physically and mentally fit without any bodily defects that would hinder their duties.
Relaxation: For SC/ST/PH/Ex-servicemen candidates, the minimum required marks are relaxed by 5%.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 40 years (as on 23rd September 2025)
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST/PH candidates: 5 years
- Government servants: 5 years
- SC/ST/PH government servants: Maximum relaxation remains 5 years only, not cumulative.
Salary Scale
Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level-9 of the Tripura State Pay Matrix with the following structure:
- Basic Pay: ₹5,700 – ₹24,000
- Grade Pay: ₹2,800 (PB-2, pre-revised)

Selection Process
The recruitment process for Tripura PA-II will be conducted in three stages:
1. Preliminary Examination (Screening Test)
- Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), OMR-based
- Total Marks: 100
- Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
- Purpose: Screening test for shortlisting candidates for the next stage
- Note: Marks obtained in this exam will not be counted for the final merit list.
2. Type Writing and Shorthand Writing & Transcription Test
- Type Writing (Computer): 100 marks
- Shorthand Writing & Transcription (Computer): 200 marks
- Qualifying Marks: 50% (relaxable to 40% for SC/ST candidates)
Only candidates qualifying in this stage will be called for the Main Examination.
3. Main Examination (Conventional Type Test)
- Total Marks: 250
- Subjects:
- Paper I: English – 100 marks (3 hours)
- Paper II: Bengali or Alternative English – 50 marks (1.5 hours)
- Paper III: General Knowledge & Current Affairs – 100 marks (3 hours)
The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in Type Writing & Shorthand Writing & Transcription Test + Main Examination.
How to Apply
- Applications must be submitted online only through the official application portal of the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC).
- Candidates must first register themselves on the portal through One Time Profile Registration (OTPR). A unique User ID will be generated and sent to the registered mobile number and email.
- Using the OTPR User ID, candidates can log in and apply for the post.
- Applicants should ensure all details are filled correctly. In case of multiple applications, only the latest complete application will be accepted.
- Recruitment fees must be paid online.
- No hard copy of the application will be accepted.

Other Important Information
- Correction Window: Applicants can edit their application within 7 days after the last date of application submission.
- Document Submission: After the preliminary exam results, shortlisted candidates must submit self-attested documents like age proof, educational qualifications, PRTC, caste certificate, PH certificate, and computer course certificate.
- Examination Standard: The written examination will follow the Madhyamik (secondary level) standard.
- Disqualification:
- Incomplete or incorrect applications will be rejected.
- Candidates absent in any test (typewriting, shorthand, or main exam) will not be considered.
- Tie-breaking in Merit: If two candidates secure the same marks, seniority in age will be considered. If age is also the same, marks in educational qualifications will decide rank.
- Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, electronic gadgets, jackets, coats, pullovers, and similar garments will not be allowed in the exam hall.
