TSECL is the primary electricity distribution and generation company of Tripura. It operates across the state, ensuring reliable power supply and maintaining infrastructure for electricity distribution. As part of its ongoing expansion and modernization initiatives, TSECL seeks skilled engineers in Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil disciplines to take up managerial responsibilities in Grade A and Grade B roles.

Age Limit

  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old and should not be older than 40 years.
  • Age relaxation of 5 years is applicable for candidates belonging to ST, SC, and PwD (PH) categories, in accordance with Tripura government reservation rules.

Educational Qualifications

The recruitment requires different educational qualifications for Grade A and Grade B managers:

Grade A Managers:

  1. Manager (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil) must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering from a recognized university or institute.
  2. The candidate must be a domicile of Tripura and provide a Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura (PRCT).
  3. Candidates should have knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok languages.

Grade B Managers:

  1. Manager (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil) must have a Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, recognized by AICTE.
  2. Candidates holding only a degree without a diploma are not eligible for Grade B posts.
  3. A PRCT certificate is mandatory, and knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok is required.

Pay Scale

The pay scales for TSECL managers are aligned with Tripura State Civil Services pay rules.

Recruitment Fee

  • Unreserved (UR) candidates: ₹100
  • SC/ST/Women candidates: ₹50
  • Payment mode: Demand Draft (DD) from any nationalized bank, payable in favor of TSECL at Agartala.
  • The fee is non-refundable, even if the recruitment is cancelled.

Job Responsibilities and Nature of Service

Managers at TSECL, both Grade A and Grade B, will undertake technical and administrative responsibilities, including:

  • Supervision of power generation, transmission, and distribution activities.
  • Ensuring adherence to operational protocols, safety standards, and service quality.
  • Planning and executing civil or mechanical engineering projects within TSECL.
  • Coordinating with teams for maintenance, troubleshooting, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Serving at any location within the state as per operational requirements.

Service Conditions:

  • Initial appointment is for one year as Management Trainee in respective branches.
  • During training, Grade A engineers will receive a consolidated remuneration of ₹32,300 per month, while Grade B engineers will receive ₹23,600 per month.
  • On successful completion of training, candidates will be confirmed as Manager, Grade A or B.
  • Post-confirmation, the probation period will be two years.
  • TSECL does not provide government pensions, and employment can be terminated by either party with 30 days’ notice or one month’s salary.

Recruitment Process

TSECL follows a transparent selection process:

  1. Application Screening: Initial verification of the candidate’s eligibility, documents, and qualifications.
  2. Computer-Based Written Examination: 85 marks.
    • Cut-off marks: 34 out of 85.
  3. Personal Interview: 15 marks.

Application Guidelines

Candidates must carefully follow the application process:

  1. Application Form: Fill in the prescribed format (Annexure-A) provided by TSECL.
  2. Documents Required:
    • 2 recent passport-sized photographs.
    • Self-attested photocopies of educational certificates, mark sheets, caste certificate, PRTC, and other testimonials.
    • Demand Draft for recruitment fee.
  3. Submission: Put all your documents in a sealed envelope and clearly write on it: ‘Application for the post of [Name of Post] under TSECL.’
