The Government of Uttar Pradesh has been running one of the largest scholarship schemes in India to ensure that no student is deprived of education due to financial constraints. Known as the UP Scholarship Scheme, it provides financial assistance to students from economically weaker sections of society, including Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Minority communities, and General category students.
For the academic year 2025-26, the scholarship covers both pre-matric students (Class 9-10) and post-matric students (Class 11-12, diploma, graduation, post-graduation, and professional courses). The primary goal of this scheme is to support students in pursuing education at different levels, reduce dropout rates, and promote equal educational opportunities across the state.
